摘要: A method for recovering non-ferrous metal from a dross that includes the non-ferrous metal includes introducing the dross into a rotary furnace or rotatable converter. The furnace or converter has a refractory lining. Oxygen and a fossil fuel are supplied to an oxy-fuel burner. The oxygen is supplied as a combustion gas including at least eighty percent oxygen. The oxygen and fossil fuel are combusted to generate an initial combustion energy. The dross is heated to a temperature above a melting point of the non-ferrous metal by supplying the initial combustion energy to the furnace or converter. The heating takes place in the absence of a protective salt layer. The non-ferrous metal and a non-metallic residue are recovered from the furnace or converter.

摘要: A cold rolled strip (3) of aluminum is continuously transported along a transport path where a ramp of Direct Flame Impingement (DFI) burners (1) are located, for heating the strip. The ramp (1) is located perpendicular, or substantially perpendicular, to the direction of movement of the strip (3), the DFI burners (1) are mutually located such that the whole width of the strip (3) is heated to the same, or substantially the same, temperature. The velocity of the strip (3) passing the ramp and the heating power of the burners (1) are adapted to heat treat the strip (3) such that annealing of the strip is carried out and the heat treated strip is wound to a coil (5).

摘要: A method for recovery of metals from essentially metallic fines comprises the following steps: supplying said essentially metallic fines to a flame of a burner (20), bringing said fines to agglomerate by means of heat from the flame without essentially changing the chemical composition thereof, thereby providing an essentially metallic agglomerated product. The agglomerated product is subsequently recovered, preferably in a furnace (30). By means of the method, the recovery of metals is facilitated. An apparatus for performing the method is also provided.
