Provided is a continuous hot-dip galvanizing apparatus comprising: a vertical annealing furnace having heating, soaking zone, and cooling zones therein; and a hot-dip galvanizing line downstream of the cooling zone. The heating, soaking, and cooling zones each have, in its upper portion, at least one upper hearth roll and, in its lower portion, at least one lower hearth roll. The soaking zone has a first and second humidified gas supply ports to supply a humidified gas having a dew point of 10° C. to 30° C. to the soaking zone. The first and second humidified gas supply ports are 1.0 m to 5.0 m lower than the center of the lower and upper hearth rolls, respectively, and overlap the steel sheet. The first humidified gas supply port is provided only for an ascending pass and the second humidified gas supply port is provided only for a descending pass.

A method for producing a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet includes supplying humidified gas to the soaking zone 12 in a manner such that: in passes in which the steel sheet moves upward, the humidified gas is supplied from first humidified gas supply ports 40A to 40E provided at positions higher by 1.0 m or more and 5.0 m or less than the centers of lower hearth rolls 54 and overlapping the steel sheet in the passes when viewed from the side of the soaking zone; and in passes in which the steel sheet moves downward, the humidified gas is supplied from second humidified gas supply ports 42A to 42E provided at positions lower by 1.0 m or more and 5.0 m or less than the centers of the upper hearth rolls 52 and overlapping the steel sheet in the passes when viewed from the side of the soaking zone.

A bridle device and a method for producing a steel strip in which snaking of a steel strip that occurs during production of a high-silicon steel strip is suppressed. The bridle device includes a pair of upper and lower rotatable endless belts or a pair of upper and lower rotatable caterpillars configured to pinch a steel strip. The bridle device is movable or swingable in a steel strip width direction by using a steering mechanism. The bridle device further includes a rolling reduction mechanism configured to perform rolling reduction on a pinched portion of the steel strip by using the pair of upper and lower endless belts or the pair of upper and lower caterpillars. The steering mechanism moves or swings the bridle device in the steel strip width direction, and the rolling reduction mechanism performs rolling reduction on one of end portions in the steel strip width direction.

Part of an atmosphere gas in a heating zone and/or a soaking zone is sucked out and is cooled through a high-temperature gas passage of a heat exchanger by heat exchange with a gas in a low-temperature gas passage, then cooled through a gas cooler, then dehumidified to a dew point of −45° C. or less in a dryer, then heated through the low-temperature gas passage of the heat exchanger by heat exchange with a gas in the high-temperature gas passage, and returned to the heating zone and/or the soaking zone. Part of gas flowing from the dryer toward the low-temperature gas passage of the heat exchanger is returned to a cooling zone. These can achieve a low dew point of −45° C. or less with high energy efficiency.

An electric wire comprises a non-oxidized conductor of copper alloy having no outer coating and in direct contact with a PTFE-based sheath. It is fabricated as follows: providing a copper alloy conductor without an outer coating; forming a sheath of a PTFE-based material around the conductor; and heating the wire in order to evaporate the lubricant and sinter the sheath. In order to avoid oxidizing the copper during the heating step, the wire is heated mainly in an atmosphere having a low oxygen content. The lubricant evaporation and/or sintering line for stabilizing the sheath of the electric wire comprises one or more ovens, each having an enclosure in which an atmosphere having a low oxygen content is maintained.

The invention relates to a device for limiting the combustion fume exhaust towards the outside of a continuous furnace, especially a tunnel furnace, for reheating iron and steel products, especially slabs, at the opening located at the entrance of the furnace. The first row of burners consists of at least two burners (2a, 2c) arranged at the same distance (D) from the entrance of the furnace and close thereto, and the burners of the first row of burners are inclined mainly from an angle A towards the discharge area of the furnace.

The invention concerns a method for producing metal strip (1) in an installation (2), in which a metal strand, especially a thin slab, is brought to a desired temperature and/or is maintained at a desired temperature in a furnace (3, 3a, 3b) and is subjected to a rolling process in a rolling train (4) downstream of the furnace (3, 3a, 3b) in the direction of conveyance (R) of the metal strand (1). In accordance with the invention, to prevent the formation of scale deposits in the downstream region of the furnace, provision is made for the metal strand (1) to be subjected to at least one descaling operation during its residence time in the region (5) of the furnace (3, 3a, 3b). In addition, the invention concerns an installation for producing metal strip.

The present invention provides a dual-purpose installation for continuous annealing and hot dip plating to produce a continuously annealed steel sheet and a hot dip plated steel sheet by switching process routes in the single installation, and according to the present invention, by installing a bypass facility which leads a steel sheet from a continuous annealing furnace to a water quenching facility without it traveling through a plating pot and a plating facility in the a dual-purpose installation for continuous annealing and hot dip plating, it becomes possible to prevent the steel sheet coming out from the annealing furnace from being exposed to the outside atmosphere and being oxidized during the production of a continuously annealed product and to realize a less expensive dual-purpose installation for continuous annealing and hot dip plating.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling vibration of steel sheet being processed in a processing line. The apparatus includes: electromagnet devices for generating magnetic forces acting at right angles on the steel sheet; sensor devices for detecting separation distances between the steel sheet and the electromagnet devices; control devices for controlling a flow of excitation current through the electromagnet devices according to separation distances detected by the sensor devices; and actuator devices for adjusting the separation distance between the steel sheet and the electromagnet devices; wherein the actuator devices adjust the separation distance when a specific condition is attained in a positional relationship between the steel sheet and the electromagnet devices.
