    摘要: Protein structural determination using NMR techniques is improved through use of proteins in which one or more amino acids in the peptidic sequence are isotopically enriched in the sidechain with 2H and are isotopically enriched on the backbone with 13C, 15N, 2H or any combination thereof. This invention provides amino acids isotopically enriched as above, which can be used to synthesize isotopically labeled proteins and peptides for protein structural determinations by NMR, and methods for their synthesis. Other embodiments of the invention include peptidic molecules, media for peptidic molecule expression, methods of making isotopically labeled peptidic molecules and methods of determining structural information of a peptidic molecule.

    摘要: This invention provides an NMR method for obtaining both entropic and enthalpic data on proteins and protein/ligand complexes which can be used to obtain accurate structural and dynamic data of proteins and protein complexes having a wide range of molecular weights. An embodiment of the invention provides proteins which contain at least one bond vector whose dynamics are to be measured and which is surrounded by NMR inactive nuclei, and amino acids for synthesis of the proteins via chemical means or biological expression. The NMR methods using specifically labeled proteins for analysis result in maximization of the sensitivity and resolution of the NMR experiments, and minimization of the loss of signal due to diffusion.

    摘要: A sample module for use in a downhole tool includes a sample chamber for receiving and storing pressurized fluid. A piston is slidably disposed in the chamber to define a sample cavity and a buffer cavity, and the cavities have variable volumes determined by movement of the piston. A first flowline is provided for communicating fluid obtained from a subsurface formation through the sample module. A second flowline connects the first flowline to the sample cavity, and a third flowline connects the first flowline to the buffer cavity for communicating buffer fluid out of the buffer cavity. A first valve capable of moving between a closed position and an open position is disposed in the second flowline for communicating flow of fluid from the first flowline to the sample cavity. When the first valve is in the open position, the sample cavity and the buffer cavity are in fluid communication with the first flowline and therefore have equivalent pressures.

    摘要: A rugged hard disk drive storage assembly is disclosed. The rugged hard disk drive storage assembly includes an enclosure capable of containing multiple hard disk drives. The enclosure also contains multiple shock and vibration absorbers that are configured to elastically support all the hard disk drives contained within the enclosure. The multiple shock absorbers protect the delicate electronic hard disk drives and their sensitive information from shock and vibration damage, even when the enclosure has been removed from the drive container, and is being carried away by personal in a harsh combat environment. In addition, the enclosure is hermetically sealed such that the hard disk drives are isolated from external environment.

    摘要: A safety gate for enclosing a passageway includes first and second gate members situated in an overlapping arrangement for slidable movement horizontally so that a width defined collectively by the gate members is selectable. The second gate member is essentially received by the first gate member. Each gate member includes an upstanding proximal end panel and spaced apart upper and lower panels extending away from the respective proximal end panel, the upper and lower panels having terminal ends, respectively, that together define a void therebetween. Each gate member includes an upper rail member extending horizontally along an upper edge of the first gate member that is perpendicular to respective upper panels. The first and the second rail members are situated one atop the other and share a singular vertical axis extending through them.
