    摘要: A spring and strut mount assembly for an automotive vehicle includes a strut provided with a shock absorber having a piston reciprocable in a cylinder and a piston rod extending axially outwardly from one end of the cylinder. A strut mount is adapted to be secured to a rigid frame of the vehicle. The outer end of the piston rod is secured to the strut mount. A spring unit resists retraction of the piston rod. The spring unit has upper and lower spring seats. The upper spring seat is mounted to the strut mount. The upper spring seat assembly is parallel and diverging to the strut mount and tower, perpendicular to the coil spring center line, perpendicular to the strut center line and parallel to the upper plane of the coil spring's end, all at the same time. The lower spring seat is mounted on the cylinder. A coil spring encircles the shock absorber and is held between the seats. The central axis of the spring extends at an acute angle to the central axis of the strut.

    摘要: The coil spring of a vehicle shock absorber can be seated on an elastomeric sound isolator pad whose spring engagement surface has plural slot-like depressions evenly spaced around the pad circumference. These slot-like depressions form raised ribs that provide the contact surfaces for the lowermost convolution of the coil spring. Each rib can readily deform under the spring force. Side surfaces of the ribs can act as heat-dissipating surfaces. The slot construction allows the pad to be formed out of a reasonably high durometer and highly wear-resistant elastomer without adversely affecting the desired rib deflection.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a sealed vent terminal assembly intended for use in association with high-efficiency oil fired furnaces or boilers. The terminal assembly of the present invention is designed to simultaneously flow outside combustion air to the furnace or boiler and eject combustion gases discharged from the furnace or boiler. It comprises a combustion gas vent pipe for receiving and axially ejecting the combustion gases, the combustion gas vent pipe having an open discharge end, a head chamber positioned over the open discharge end of the combustion gas vent pipe, the head chamber including a plurality of outlet ports and means for splitting and deflecting the combustion gases to the plurality of outlet ports, a combustion air inlet pipe colinearly disposed outwardly around the combustion gas vent pipe and defining an annular flow space operative to receive a flow of combustion air and a baffle disposed between the outlet ports of the head chamber and the annular flow space of the combustion air inlet pipe to inhibit the combustion gas from being mixed with the flow of combustion air. The terminal assembly of the present invention overcomes the difficulties of known devices as it operates effectively and efficiently in all wind conditions. The invention is further directed to a clamping system designed for use in association with the sealed vent terminal assembly.

The arrangement includes a striker member mounted on one side of the door to define a striker path when the door is moved upwardly or downwardly. A lock mechanism includes a dog and means for biasing the dog to removably extend into the striker path. When the door is moved downwardly, the striker will force the dog out of the striker path to thereby permit the striker to pass over the dog and for the door to extend below the dog. When the striker is below the dog and the door is moved upwardly, the dog will engage the striker and prohibit upward movement of the striker and the door.

    摘要: A locking system for trailer air brakes of the type having a supply air line with a gladhand. The locking system comprises a valve connected to the supply air line. The valve is actuatable between an open position, wherein the valve enables air conveyed in the supply air line to disengage the air brakes from the actuated position, and an exhaust position, wherein the valve exhaust air through an exhaust port thereof from the supply air line such that the air brakes remain in the actuated position. A locking device has a portion being automatically displaceable to a locking position when the valve is actuated to the exhaust position so as to lock the valve in the exhaust position, and being displaceable to a disarmed position by manual disarming means for unlocking the locking device and displace the valve to the open position.
