    摘要： The present invention relates to rinse-off hair care compositions that leave a low residue on the hair. These compositions have good hair style retention properties and have a natural, non-sticky feel upon the hair. These compositions comprise a hydrophobic copolymer component having a drying coefficient of less than about 3% and a carrier suitable for application to the hair. The copolymer component further comprises a hydrophobic copolymer and a volatile hydrophobic solvent. The copolymer has a cohesive breaking strength of greater than about 20 kg.sub.f /cm.sup.2, an adhesive strength of less than about 30 kg.sub.f /cm.sup.2, a cohesive breaking strain of less than about 100%, wherein the ratio of said cohesive breaking strength to said adhesive strength is greater than or equal to about 1.

    摘要： Disclosed are cosmetic compositions comprising:(a) from about 0.1% to about 50%, based on the weight of the composition, of a film-forming graft copolymer, wherein the copolymer comprises:(i) a backbone exhibiting a T.sub.g of from about 0.degree. C. to about 50.degree. C.; and(ii) one or more hydrophilic grafts attached to the backbone wherein each of the grafts exhibits a T.sub.g of from about 50.degree. C. to about 200.degree. C., andwherein the average molecular weight of each of the grafts is greater than about 1000; and(b) from about 50% to about 99.9%, based on the weight of the composition, of a suitable carrier.The compositions provide good wear properties and are suitable for use in a variety of cosmetic applications, such as facial moisturizers, foundations, lipsticks, mascaras, nail polishes and the like. In a preferred embodiment, the compositions are in the form of a nail polish which, when applied to nails, exhibit excellent long wear properties.

    摘要： A hair styling composition comprising: (a) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of an adhesive polymer, said polymer being characterized by an organic polymeric backbone wherein said polymer is substantially free of silicone; (b) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of a silicone grafted adhesive polymer, said polymer being characterized by an organic polymeric backbone, compatible with said adhesive polymer of (a) wherein said silicone grafted adhesive polymer has silicone macromers grafted to said backbone and wherein the number average molecular weight of said silicone macromers is greater than about 500; (c) from about 0.1% to about 15%, by weight, of a hydrocarbon solvent selected from the group consisting of C10-C14 branched chain hydrocarbons, and mixtures thereof having a boiling point of from about 105° C. to about 260° C.; (d) a polar solvent phase comprising from about 80% to about 99%, by weight of the composition, of a polar solvent selected from the group consisting of water and C2-C3 monohydric alcohols, and mixtures thereof, wherein said composition contains no more than about 15%, by weight, of C3 monohydric alcohol; wherein said organic polymer backbone is soluble in said polar solvent phase, and said silicone macromers of said hair setting polymer are soluble in said hydrocarbon solvent.

These compositions comprise an adhesive copolymer and a solvent for the copolymer selected from the group consisting of water, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, acetone, propylene glycol, and mixtures thereof. The compositions, when dried, exhibit a cohesive strength of greater than about 0.5 kgf/mm.sup.2, a total energy absorption per unit volume of greater than about 0.55 kgfmm/mm.sup.3, and an impact strength of greater than about 7000 ergs. Preferred are hairspray embodiments of the present invention having improved removeability from hair as defined by a hair stiffness value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale) and a hair flaking value of from 0 to about 3.5 (0 to 4 scale), which values are determined by the removeability methodology defined herein.
