In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a light source module configured to emit light; and a deformable waveguide coupled to the light source module and configured to transmit the light or a deflected version of the light at a situs at which pressure external to the deformable waveguide is applied. The deformable waveguide may also be illuminated by the light. The apparatus may also include one or more sensors configured to detect information indicative of the light or the deflected version of the light at the situs, and output a signal in response to the detected information.

The system may comprise at least one computer processor associated with a screen controller of an electrophoretic display device, where the at least one computer processor may be configured to initialize screen controller registers, loading a waveform into the screen controller of the electrophoretic display device, copying previously stored screen image data stored in direct memory access to current storage of the screen controller; and executing an update process to efficiently reinitialize the screen controller of the electrophoretic display after panel power to the electrophoretic display is provided by at least one power source of the electrophoretic display.

摘要： A flexible electronic device and method of manufacture are disclosed. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a flexible electronic device includes a front; a back; and a plurality of layers disposed between the front and the back. A plurality of components, including processor, a memory, a display, a display driver, a battery, and a data interface, may be disposed on the layers. The flexible electronic device may also include a plurality of flex points so that the flexible electronic device can be flexed relative to each flex point. According to another embodiment of the invention, the method of manufacturing a flexible electronic device by lamination includes (1) providing a first source of front layers for the flexible electronic device; (2) providing a second source of back layers for the flexible electronic device; (3) providing a source for each interior layer of the flexible electronic device, at least one interior layer having at least one flexible electronic component disposed thereon; (4) pressing the front, interior, and back layers together, resulting in a laminate; and (5) curing the laminate.

The computer code may: receive an indication that the electronic device is going to be put in a reduced power state; render a first advertisement on the low-power display before entering the reduced power state; and enter the reduced power state. The first advertisement may remain visible on the low-power display after the device enters the reduced power state. The low-power display may be an electrophoretic display. A method for rendering advertisements on an electronic device having a low-power display may include receiving an indication that the electronic device is going to be put in a reduced power state; rendering a first advertisement on the low-power display; and entering the reduced power state. The low-power display may be an electrophoretic display.
