    摘要： A method and apparatus for displaying three dimensional (3D) images are provided. The display apparatus includes a backlight unit which emits light, an image panel which includes plurality of pixels for modulating the light from the backlight unit to form a gray scaled image, an electrowetting lens unit which includes first electrowetting lenses arranged to correspond to the plurality of pixels in the image panel and second electrowetting lenses arranged opposite to the first electrowetting lenses, wherein at least two of the first electrowetting lenses and at least one of the second electrowetting lenses may be arranged opposite each other; and a controller which controls the electrowetting lens unit to separate beams exiting from the image panel into at least two viewing zones in a 3D image display mode.

The 2D/3D switchable backlight unit includes a light source, a light guide plate in which light emitted from the light source is total-internal-reflected, and a switch array comprising a plurality of switches that selectively contact a first surface of the light guide plate and emit light by frustrated total internal reflection inside the light guide plate. In 2D mode, each of the switches contacts the first surface of the light guide plate. In 3D mode, some of the switches contact the first surface of the light guide plate.

    摘要： An apparatus includes a recording light source configured to emit recording beams, an electrically addressable spatial light modulator (EASLM) configured to time sequentially modulate the recording beams emitted from the recording light source according to hologram information corresponding to a 3-dimensional image spatially divided into a plurality of portions, an optically addressable spatial light modulator (OASLM) configured to include a plurality of regions corresponding to the plurality of the divided portions of the 3-dimensional image and images on a region corresponding to the portions using the modulated recording beams to form a hologram, a scanning optical unit configured to reproduce the hologram formed by the recording beams serially modulated by the EASLM on a reduced scale and transmit the hologram to the regions of the OASLM corresponding to the portions, and a reproducing light source configured to produce a surface light and emit the surface light to the OASLM.

The changeable liquid prism array includes a substrate, a wiring layer formed on the substrate, and including conducting wire portions and non-conducting wire portions where the conducting wire portions are not formed, and barrier walls disposed on the wiring layer. The changeable liquid prism array further includes cells defined by the barrier walls, a first liquid included in the cells, and a second liquid located on the first liquid. The changeable liquid prism array further includes side electrodes disposed on side surfaces of the barrier walls, and separated from each other by spaces corresponding to the non-conducting wire portions, and an upper electrode arranged above the barrier walls, and separated from the side electrodes.
