    摘要: Specific novel compounds of aromatic bis-acetoamide structures are provided as intermediate compounds to forming different types of coloring agents, at least. Such compounds are useful as intermediates in the production of certain bis-acetoanilide azo dyes, pigments, and polymeric colorants. Such compounds facilitate production of such coloring agents that exhibit favorable tinctorial strength and intense color from orange to greenish yellow within and on different substrates and media. Coloring agents and methods of making such agents are encompassed within this invention as well.

    摘要: This invention relates to colorants comprising a chromophore having two azo acetoacetanilide moieties, wherein said moieties each have at least one poly(oxyalkylene) chain, preferably at least two such chains. Such colorants exhibit extremely good base stability and lightfastness, particularly when incorporated within certain media and/or on the surface of certain substrates. These poly(oxyalkylene) chains provide solubility in different solvents or resins thereby permitting the introduction of such excellent coloring chromophores within diverse media and/or or diverse substrates. Compositions and articles comprising such colorants are provided as are methods for producing such inventive colorants.

    摘要: In one form, a method for stabilization of a facet joint of the spinal column includes forming a cavity between adjacent bones defining the facet joint and positioning an implant in the cavity between the adjacent bones. In one aspect of this form, the method also includes positioning a bone anchor across the facet joint and engaging the bone anchor with each of the adjacent bones to force the bones toward one another and clamp the implant therebetween. In a further aspect of this form, the implant is a cancellous bone dowel and becomes fractured into a plurality of fragments upon being clamped between the adjacent bones and/or otherwise interacting with the bone anchor. In another form, systems and devices for performing percutaneous facet joint stabilization and/or fusion are provided. However, different forms and applications are also envisioned.

    摘要: This invention provides a novel class of compounds and compositions and synthetic methods related to lactone antioxidant 3-arylbenzofuranones. The compounds may be useful to prevent yellowing and deterioration of organic materials preferably polymers, such as polyurethane foams as one example. The lactone antioxidants may be polymeric, and may also be liquid or paste in physical form at room temperature. Although it is not necessary for its stabilizing properties, the compositions may, in some species, bear one or more reactive primary OH groups on the polymer chains. The chains may also contain oligomeric oxyalkylene ether and aliphatic ester functional groups, in one embodiment of the invention.

    摘要: The invention provides novel colored toner and developer compositions containing polymeric colorants. Such compositions may contain poly(oxyalkylene) or poly(alkylester) substituted color chromophores which are attached to relatively long chained ologomers. The color toner and developer compositions of the invention resist color bleeding and aggregation, and may retain their color fidelity over extended time periods. Such color toner compositions are useful in color imaging systems. The invention provides novel compositions that can readily be formulated and manufactured using the polymeric or oligomeric colorants. The toners of the invention may contain charge control agents, thermoplastic resins, colorants, and additives.

    摘要: A new and useful nonaqueous liquid pigment dispersion is provided which is easy to handle and produces thorough and effective colorations within target media, particularly as compared to standard solid pigments or high-viscosity liquid pigment dispersions. More specifically, the present invention relates to liquid pigment dispersions possessing viscosities of at most 5,000 centipoise at standard temperature and pressure. Such a low viscosity is obtained through the addition of relatively low amounts of aprotic viscosity modifiers possessing dipole moments of at between about 1.0 and 5.0, alternatively measured in terms of a flash point between about −20° C. and 180°, such as, most preferably cyclic carbonates. The resultant low-viscosity pigment compositions thus can be incorporated into any standard pigment-coloring method (such as, for example, polyurethane, polyolefin, and the like) without the problems associated with traditionally utilized solid or thickened, high viscosity pigment materials. The method of coloring such target media is also encompassed within this invention.
