    Abstract: A people conveyor system and a method for software update of a people conveyor component in a people conveyor system, such as an elevator system, an escalator system and/or a moving walkway system. The conveyor system comprises a plurality of conveyor components, each said conveyor component comprising a memory and a processor running an application software, an updating means for updating conveyor component software, the updating means being communicatively connected to the conveyor components, wherein the updating means comprises or is connected to a processor and a memory, and at least one communication channel, arranged between the updating means and a remote update system. In the method the updating means downloads a software update from the remote update system via the at least one communication channel based on request from the remote update system and/or based on the request from at least one conveyor component and/or the people conveyor system, and wherein the software download from the remote update system to the updating means and/or from the updating means to the conveyor component is performed as a background download and/or without affecting the operation of the people conveyor.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a passenger conveyor, e.g. an elevator, comprising a conveyor motor being controlled by a conveyor control via a motor drive, the motor drive comprising a frequency converter with a rectifier bridge, an intermediate DC circuit and a converter bridge connected with the conveyor motor. The rectifier bridge is configured to be connected to mains via at least one relay, which relay is controlled by the conveyor control, the conveyor comprises a deep sleep mode, in which the frequency converter as well as at least a major part of conveyor control is switched off,in which conveyor the intermediate DC circuit forms the power supply for the conveyor control. During the activation of the deep sleep mode the conveyor control is configured to open the relay, whereby at least one signal circuit of the conveyor is configured to remain powered at least during the deep sleep mode. The conveyor comprises a wake-up circuit which is connected to the signal circuit and which is configured to be permanently powered at least during the deep sleep mode, which wake-up circuit is configured to close the relay dependent on a signal received from the signal circuit.

    Abstract: An elevator includes a control system for monitoring the load of a car, which control system is adapted to prevent the normal starting of the elevator, optionally also including relevelling, when there is an overload in the car. The elevator includes at least one position measuring device, speed measuring device and/or movement measuring device in order to determine the movement and/or position of the car, and the control system of the elevator is adapted to remove the prevention of normal starting when at least one said position measuring device, speed measuring device and/or movement measuring device detects that the car moved or is moving upwards in the elevator shaft. In the method, the control system of the elevator is used to determine the load situation of the car, including both the steps to prevent the normal starting of the elevator, optionally also including relevelling, when there is an overload in the car and to open some of the machinery brakes and to keep the remaining machinery brakes closed in order to determine the load situation.
