Abstract:
An oral cavity apparatus includes a body portion having first and second ends and a grip portion; an oral tool coupled to the first end of the body portion; and a touch-sensitive (TS) sensor which is located on the body portion and outputs a sensor value indicative of a force applied thereto by a user. In addition, a controller is configured to compare the sensor value with at least one threshold value, and to actuate the oral tool based upon the results of the comparison.
Abstract:
A communication system for a plurality of users in an emergency room or operating room environment, in particular for use in hospitals, efficiently assists communication in a complex environment. The communication system for a plurality of users of wearable capturing devices includes a circuit (identification circuit) including program logic arranged to identify, by a second wearable device, and capture a viewpoint of the first wearable device; a circuit (exchange circuit) includes program logic arranged to cause the first wearable device wearer to exchange the captured viewpoint with the second wearable device wearer; and a circuit (projecting circuit) includes program logic arranged to provide the exchanged viewpoint by the second wearable device as an exchanged viewpoint to the second wearable device wearer.
Abstract:
Various methods and apparatus disclosed herein relate to selectively illuminating an illuminated textile (100) based on a physical context of the illuminated textile. For example, in some embodiments, data from one or more sensors (104) embedded in or otherwise associated with an illuminated textile may be utilized by a controller (108) to implement lighting property adjustments for one or more selected light sources (106) embedded in or associated with the textile, based on the data. The data may be indicative of a physical context of the illuminated textile.
Abstract:
An oral cavity apparatus includes a body portion having first and second ends and a grip portion situated between the first and second ends; an oral cleaning tool coupled to the first end and including a toothbrush head having a first and second groups of bristles of different firmness. The second group of bristles has an adjustable extension. An actuator is coupled to the second group of bristle and is configured to control an extension of the second group of bristles relative to the first group of bristles. At least one touch-sensitive (TS) sensor is mounted upon the body portion and outputs a sensor value indicative of a force applied thereto. In addition, a controller may be configured to compare the sensor value with a threshold value and actuate the actuator to extend the second group of bristles relative to the first group of bristles based upon the results of the determination.
Abstract:
A method of operating a control system for controlling a device, the control system comprising a motion capture equipment, and a controller for providing control signals for controlling one or more device functions of the device, the method comprising the steps of: capturing, by the motion capture equipment, motion picture images of a space and providing the motion picture images to the controller; analyzing, by the controller, the motion picture images for detecting user input from a user in the space, and detecting by the controller a gesture performed by the user; and providing, by the controller in response to said detecting of the gesture, a control signal to the device for controlling a selected device functions of said one or more device functions; wherein said analyzing is performed by the controller by monitoring one or more gesture zones in said motion picture images, each gesture zone being associated with one respective device function of said plurality of device functions, and wherein for providing said control signal the controller determines the gesture zone wherein the gesture is detected for establishing the selected device function to control.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for adjusting at least one lighting parameter based on user action. For example, methods and apparatus adjust one of a minimum set point and a maximum set point in response to a user manipulation of a component of a light management system (10, 110). The adjusted at least one of the minimum set point and the maximum set point are adjusted based on a measured interior illuminance value after the user manipulation. The set points may be indicative of user desired levels of interior illuminance.
