Abstract:
Disclosed is a product comprising a luminous surface, the product comprising a light guide (10) providing said luminous surface, said light guide comprising a plurality of scattering elements (12) for producing a substantially homogeneous light output across said luminous surface; and a first solid state lighting element (20) arranged to emit a beam of light (30) into the light guide; wherein the light guide further comprises a body (40) arranged to create a region (50) in the light guide shaded from said beam.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and apparatus for lighting control. One or more properties of light output are controlled based on user manipulation of a mobile computing device (110, 510) such as a mobile phone. Data from a mobile computing device may be utilized to implement lighting property adjustments for one or more LEDs (132) based on the data. The data may be user gesture data that is based on physical movement of the mobile computing device in space by the user.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus and computing devices are described herein for activatable lighting devices. In various embodiments, a composition of a lighting system may be ascertained based at least in part on a database (851, 951) of one or more lighting device records associated with one or more lighting devices (100, 600, 700, 800a, 800b, 900, 1000a, 1000b, 1000c) of the lighting system. In various embodiments, it may be determined, based on the ascertained composition, that a predetermined criterion is satisfied. In various embodiments, a communication may be issued in response to the determination. The communication may be configured to facilitate activation of a deactivated lighting device function of a lighting device associated with the lighting system.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed generally to lighting control, and more particularly, to various inventive methods, systems, computer-readable media (transitory and non-transitory) and apparatus for conveying aggregate presence information using light. For example, in some embodiments, output of a presence sensor over time may be aggregated, and an LED node may cause one or more LEDs to emit light having a property that conveys the aggregated captured output.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to inventive methods and apparatus for lighting control and for providing effects upon activation/deactivation. For example, various methods and apparatus are described for controlling various selected properties of light emitted by an LED-based lighting unit (100) with multiple LEDs (102) using, for example, a dimmer switch (101) and/or a predefined sequence of energizing LEDs.
Abstract:
The user interaction system comprises a portable pointing device (101) connected to a camera (102) and sending pictures to a digital signal processor (120), capable of recognizing an object (130) and a command given by the user (100) by moving the pointing device (101) in a specific way, and controlling an electrical apparatus (110) on the basis of this recognition.
