    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a double-sided image forming portion capable of forming an image on each of first and second recording surfaces of a recording sheet, a double-sided image reading portion configured to acquire a pair of divided images each constituting a half of an original image, and an image forming control portion configured to supply a folded recording sheet folded in half to the double-sided image forming portion, and cause the double-sided image forming portion to perform processing of forming the pair of divided images on the first and second recording surfaces, respectively, of the folded recording sheet.

    Abstract: An abnormality detection device for an image forming apparatus detects an abnormality in the image forming apparatus which includes a heating belt looped around a heating roller and a fixing roller. The abnormality detection device for an image forming apparatus includes: thermistors for detecting temperatures of one widthwise end portion and the other widthwise end portion of the heating belt; a temperature difference detection section for determining whether or not a temperature difference between the temperature of the one end portion and the temperature of the other end portion which are detected by the thermistors is greater than a predetermined value; and a judgment section for judging that an abnormality has occurred in the image forming apparatus when it is determined in the temperature difference detection section that the temperature difference is greater than the predetermined value.

    Abstract: The inkjet recording apparatus includes a recording head, a heater, a first control portion, and a second control portion. The recording head is configured to eject ink toward a sheet. The heater is capable of heating the ink on a supply path for the ink leading from an ink containing portion containing the ink to the recording head. The first control portion is configured to comprehensively control the inkjet recording apparatus, and power supply to the first control portion is stopped when a predetermined power supply stop condition is satisfied. The second control portion includes: a temperature detection portion configured to detect a temperature inside the inkjet recording apparatus; and a heater driving portion configured to drive the heater when the temperature detected by the temperature detection portion has become lower than a predetermined reference temperature, and the second control portion is provided separately from the first control portion.

The image forming apparatus body includes a first power supply unit, a setting unit, a second power supply unit, a generating unit, and a communication unit. The second power supply unit generates a second value of voltage set in the setting unit. The generating unit uses the first power supply unit as a power source and generates a first signal for transmission to the wireless tag. The communication unit uses the second power supply unit as a power source, generates a second signal having amplitude in proportion to the second value set in the setting unit based on the first signal, and transmits the second signal to the wireless tag by wireless.

    Abstract: A fixing device is provided with a magnetic flux generating unit, first and second rotary bodies, a fixing belt, a temperature sensing portion, a stopped time measuring portion, an abnormality determination portion, and a heating delay portion. The fixing belt extends between the first and second rotary bodies, and is heated by the first rotary body. The temperature sensing portion is disposed downstream of the first rotary body and senses the temperature of the fixing belt. The stopped time measuring portion measures a time period after heating has been stopped before an instruction to start heating is inputted. The abnormality determination portion determines any abnormality in the fixing belt based on a change in temperature after heating has started. When a stopped time is shorter than a pre-configured time period, the heating delay portion delays the start time via magnetic flux based on the instruction to start heating.
