Abstract: An object of the present invention is to determine the cause of an image defect that occurs in an image forming device with high accuracy while suppressing the amount of calculation at a processor. A processor (80) determines the cause of an image defect on the basis of a test image read from an output sheet of an image forming device (2). The processor (80) generates a plurality of feature images by executing a feature extraction process on the test image. Further, the processor (80) uses each of the plurality of feature images as an input image and determines which of a plurality of cause candidates corresponding to the image defect the input image corresponds to by pattern recognition of the input image.

Abstract: Storage (24) stores therein a teacher model (54) that is a target image (50) with a teacher annotation (52), which specifies the target image (50), assigned thereto. An inferring section (32) assigns based on the teacher model (54) an inferred annotation (82) to an inspection image (80) belonging to the same category to which the target image (50) belongs. The inferred annotation (82) is a result of inference from the inspection image (80) based on the teacher model (54). An aiding section (34) aids a human to determine whether or not the inferred annotation (82) specifies the inspection image (80). A correcting section (36) generates a corrected model (86) in a manner to add a corrected annotation (84) to the inferred annotation (82) so that the inspection image (80) is specified.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a developing device that forms a toner image, by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a photoconductor drum, a charging device that electrically charges the photoconductor drum, a developing power source that applies a predetermined developing bias voltage to the developing device, and a calculation device that calculates a surface potential of the photoconductor drum, on a basis of the developing current flowing in the developing device. The developing power source applies the developing bias voltage in a plurality of levels, to the developing device. A current measurement device measures a developing current, with respect to the developing bias voltage of each level. The calculation device calculates the surface potential, on the basis of each developing current.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier, a charging device, a developing device, a transfer device, a development power supply, a current measurement device, and a processor. The development power supply applies a predetermined bias voltage to the developing device. The processor functions as a calculator and a controller. The calculator calculates a surface potential of the image carrier based on the development current measured by the current measurement device. The controller controls the charging device, the developing device, the transfer device, and the development power supply. The controller sets a tentative transfer current to be flowed through the transfer device while the calculator calculates the surface potential.

The fogging toner amount is an amount of toner moved due to fogging. When the fogging toner amount estimated by the estimating section is less than a prescribed threshold, the calculating section calculates a value of the bias voltage at which the development current stops flowing as the surface potential.

Abstract: A learning model generating device includes a first image reading device and a first control device. Abstract: An object of the present invention is to extract image defects from a test image for each type by a simple process. A processor (80) generates a first preprocessed image and a second preprocessed image by executing a main filter process with each of a horizontal direction and a vertical direction of the test image used as a processing direction. The main filter process is a process of converting the pixel value of each pixel of interest sequentially selected from the test image into a converted value obtained by a process of emphasizing the difference between the pixel values of an area of interest and the pixel values of two adjacent areas. The processor (80) extracts, as the image defects, a first singular part that is present in the first preprocessed image and is not common to both images, a second singular part that is present in the second preprocessed image and is not common to both images, and a third singular part that is common to both images.
