In one aspect, an example method includes receiving, by an image forming device, authentication data corresponding to an external device; transmitting, by the image forming device, authentication approval data; after transmitting the authentication approval data, the image forming device receiving a first document list from the external device, wherein the first document list includes first document data; responsive to receiving the first document list, the image forming device retrieving second document data corresponding to documents stored by the image forming device, wherein the stored documents correspond to the external device; identifying a document using the first and second document data, wherein data corresponding to the identified document is included in either the first document data or the second document data; and responsive to the identification, transferring the data corresponding to the identified document between the external device and the image forming device.

Provided is an image forming apparatus that allows a remote operation terminal to operate an image processing apparatus connected by SIP. On this account, the image forming apparatus (100) connected to the remote operation terminal (300) by SIP includes a remote operation-request message receiving part that receive a remote-operation request message from the remote operation terminal (300), a remote-operation response message transmitting part that transmits a remote-operation response message in response to the remote-operation request message, and an operation-screen information transmitting part that transmits operation screen information of the image forming apparatus (100) to the remote operation terminal (300) in accordance with the communication condition of the communication session when an SIP-based communication session is established between the remote operation terminal (300) and the image forming apparatus (100).

A method autonomously represents an acquisition of an electronic document file from a request destination on behalf of a requestor. The method includes: configuring a request specification corresponding to input received from the requestor, the request specification including at least one electronic-document file request destination, a requested item specifying electronic-document file content, and storage location information indicating an electronic-document file storage location in a storage unit; creating a request communication file including content signifying that submission of an electronic document file prepared based on the requested item is requested of the at least one request destination; and transmitting the created request communication file to the request destination, monitoring response from the request destination to the transmission, and storing the electronic document file submitted from the request destination in the storage unit, based on the storage location information.
