Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an internal authentication information storage unit that stores user authentication information relating to authentication for the image forming apparatus; an internal user authentication unit; an external authentication information storage unit that stores the user authentication information for external authentication, and a private IP address in association with one another for a plurality of URLs for external authentication; and a pseudo single sign-on unit that when it is determined that a redirection destination URL included in a response message transferred from a cloud server matches one of the stored plurality of URLs for external authentication, reads the user identification information for external authentication relating to the private IP address corresponding to a destination IP address included in a packet of the response message from the external authentication information storage unit, transmits the information for external authentication to the redirection destination URL, and performs the sign-on process.

Abstract: An operation device includes a display unit, an operation unit, a registration unit, a searching unit and a guide screen generator unit. When a registration command is input for a screen displayed on the display unit, specific information of that screen is registered in the registration unit. The operation unit is operated to select a screen, for which a command to display an access procedure is input, out of a list screen relating to information of registered screens. This causes the searching unit to search a route to access that screen from a higher ranked screen. The guide screen generator unit generates a guide screen showing an access procedure utilizing that route and causes the display unit to display the generated guide screen.

Abstract: An operation device includes a screen display section that displays a login screen on a touch panel, a key position changing section, a key information reception section, and a key information determination section. The key position changing section changes positions of a plurality of keys that are displayed on the login screen such that the keys are displayed for a current login process at positions that are different from previous positions at which the keys were displayed for a previous login process. The key information reception section generates input information representing a key pressed on the login screen. Abstract: A segment extracting section extracts, from a document image, a segment that is an image region containing a series of text characters of a uniform size from a document image. When the segment extracting section extracts a plurality of segments, a segment designating section designates one or more of the extracted segments each as an enlargement segment according to text sizes of the respective extracted segments. A scaling-factor determining section determines a scaling factor for each enlargement segment based on the text size of the enlargement segment and a standard text size.
