Provided is an image forming apparatus performing effective automated storage tiering. When the system control part of the CPU causes the image processing part to perform image processing of data read from the SSD having a processing speed higher than that of the HDD, the tiering control part measures a ratio of an idle time by the image processing relative to a usage ratio per unit time of the CPU, and determines a movement destination of the data.
Abstract:
A job for which execution is requested is classified as one of classes. The amount of data to be written into a non-volatile storage device by execution of the job for which execution is requested is acquired. The efficiency index is calculated for each of the classes based on an execution evaluation value of the class and the amount of data to be written into the non-volatile storage device by execution of at least one job that has been already classified as the class. From among the classes, a class having an efficiency index of no greater than an efficiency threshold value is determined as the execution suspending class. When the job for which execution is requested belongs to the execution suspending class, execution of the job is suspended.

A device management system according to an aspect of the present disclosure is a device management system capable of managing a device and includes a control device that includes a processor and functions, through the processor executing a control program, as a device management page creator and a connection status confirmer. The device management page creator creates a device management page that is a Web page for managing the device. The connection status confirmer confirms a connection status of the device to the device management system. When a specific request relating to the device management page is made, the connection status confirmer confirms the connection status of the device subject to the device management page.

A wireless communication device includes: a wireless network communication module; a main controller board including a main controller circuit and a non-volatile main storage device having a main database storing main position information to specify frequency for the wireless network communication module; and an engine controller board physically independent of the main controller board and including an engine controller circuit and a non-volatile engine storage device having an engine database storing engine position information to specify frequency for the wireless network communication module, wherein if the main position information and the engine position information differ, the main controller circuit configures frequency specified by the engine position information for the wireless network communication module, and overwrites the main position information stored in the main database with the engine position information.

In a consumables ordering system, an image forming apparatus notifies a management system about a consumable whose remaining quantity is under a specific threshold. When a consumable whose remaining quantity is under the threshold is autonomously notified from the image forming apparatus, the management system checks the consumable whose remaining quantity is under the threshold in a specific image forming apparatus other than an autonomously notifying apparatus (S122), and notifies the autonomously notifying apparatus about the consumable autonomously notified from the autonomously notifying apparatus, and ordering information as information necessary for placing an order for the consumable checked in S122 (S129). The autonomously notifying apparatus displays the ordering information notified from the management system, and places an order for the consumable for which the ordering information is displayed in response to an instruction.
Abstract:
There is provided an image forming apparatus that eliminates the need for separately preparing an encrypted file for each user. To achieve this, the image forming apparatus performs control of browsing of a browsing file that is browsed at a terminal. The document acquisition portion of the image forming apparatus acquires document data. The document encryption portion encrypts the document data with a public key as the browsing file. The position information setting portion sets position information to permit browsing of the browsing file encrypted by the document encryption portion in a viewer for causing the browsing file to be browsed at the terminal. In the case where it has been determined that the position information coincides with a current position, a browsing execution portion at the terminal uses a secret key to decrypt the browsing file for causing it to be browsed.
