摘要: According to one embodiment, there is provided a nonaqueous electrolyte battery including a positive electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material-containing layer. The positive electrode active material-containing layer includes at least one lithium-nickel composite oxide and a conductive agent. The positive electrode active material-containing layer has, in a particle size distribution obtained by a laser diffraction scattering method, an average particle diameter d50 within a range of 1 μm to 5.5 μm, a maximum particle diameter within a range of 10 μm to 100 μm, a particle diameter d10 within a range of 0.5 μm to 3 μm, and X, represented by X=(d50−d10)/d50, within a range of 0.5 to less than 1.

摘要: According to an embodiment, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided. The nonaqueous electrolyte includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode includes negative electrode active material particles. The negative electrode active material particles include a spinel-type lithium titanate. The negative electrode has such a surface state that a ratio ALi/ATi of an Li atom abundance ratio ALi to a Ti atom abundance ratio ATi, according to a photoelectron spectroscopic measurement for a surface, is increased at a rate of 0.002 to 0.02 per cycle in a charge-and-discharge cycle test under the predetermined condition.

摘要: According to an embodiment, there is provided a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. The nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator sandwiched between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode contains a negative electrode active material having a Li-absorbing potential of 1 V vs. Li/Li+ or more. An electrical resistance of the negative electrode in a discharged state is within a range of 100 Ω·cm to 100000 Ω·cm. A pore volume ratio of pores having a pore diameter of 1 μm or more in the separator is more than 70%. The pore volume ratio is determined from a cumulative pore volume frequency curve of the separator obtained by a mercury intrusion porosimetry.

摘要: According to one embodiment, there is provided a nonaqueous electrolyte battery. The nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. An Li-atom abundance ratio ALi, Ti-atom abundance ratio ATi, and C-atom abundance ratio AC of a surface of the negative electrode satisfy inequalities 2≦AC/ATi≦10, and 1.0≦ALi/AC≦1.5. The positive electrode includes a nickel-cobalt-manganese composite oxide represented by a composition formula Li1−aNixCoyMnzO2. Subscripts x, y, and z satisfy an inequality 0.1≦x/(y+z)≦1.3, and subscript a satisfies an inequality 0≦a≦1. A ratio p/n of a capacity p of the positive electrode to a capacity n of the negative electrode is within a range of 1.2 to 2.

摘要: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode contains a lithium compound and a negative electrode current collector supporting the lithium compound. A log differential intrusion curve obtained when a pore size diameter of the negative electrode is measured by mercury porosimetry has a peak in a pore size diameter range of 0.03 to 0.2 μm and attenuates with a decrease in pore size diameter from an apex of the peak. A specific surface area (excluding a weight of the negative electrode current collector) of pores of the negative electrode found by mercury porosimetry is 6 to 100 m2/g. A ratio of a volume of pores having a pore size diameter of 0.05 μm or less to a total pore volume is 20% or more.
