    摘要: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention control pitch variations that are not observed in self servo write (SSW). According to one embodiment of the present invention, an outer radius side area of a magnetic disk is erased using an external magnetic field, and an inner radius side area is subjected to self erase using a head. The magnetization state in the base of the inner radius side area is different from that of the outer radius side area before pattern writing. Therefore, in the inner radius side area and the outer radius side area, even if a radial pattern of the same pitch is read, the different APCs are measured. With SSW of this embodiment, a reference APC used in the inner radius side area is different from that used in the outer radius side area. In this manner, the pitch variation is prevented.

A read/write head is stopped at a reference position on the data recording disk, then the read/write head is moved along a radial direction of the data recording disk from the reference position, then a determination is made as to whether the data recording disk has a sufficient width along the radial direction to write a predetermined number of servo tracks, or not, then the servo patterns are written on the servo tracks if the data recording a disk has the sufficient width.

Prior to displaying a medical image on a screen, an area defining section extracts a main subject display area of the medical image, and defines an accessory information display area outside the main subject display area. A display style defining section calculates a necessary display area for each individual item of the accessory information, and discriminates between those items which fit in the accessory information display area and those which do not. The display style defining section decides not to display the items which do not fit in the accessory information display area, or decides to display them in a transparent style, in a scrolling style, in a switching style or with a small font.

In one embodiment, a method for displaying series images in a graphical user interface (GUI) comprises receiving a current study and one or more previously-created studies, each of the current study and the one or more previously-created studies having at least one images series; performing, using one or more processors performing an image recognition routine, a comparison between at least one image series in the current study and at least one image series in each of the one or more previously-created studies by calculating image similarity between the at least one image series in the current study and the at least one image series of said each of the one or more previously-created studies; and creating a comparison layout in the GUI with at least one image from one image series of the current study adjacent to at least one image from an image series of at least one of the one or more previously-created studies.
