摘要: In the normal condition, a braking force is generated by directly supplying to a disk brake a fluid pressure generated in a master cylinder in response to an operation of a brake pedal. In addition, a braking force can be generated by supplying a fluid pressure to the disk brake by actuating a hydraulic pump motor by a controller. When a knock-back occurs due to, for example, rapid turning of a vehicle, a piston is allowed to be displaced backward so that uneven wear of a brake pad and a disk rotor can be prevented. After that, when a cause for the knock-back is eliminated, the piston is caused to move forward and a pad clearance is adjusted by actuating the pump motor by the controller so that deterioration of the responsiveness can be prevented.

摘要: An electric disk brake is capable of determining an abnormality of a parking brake mechanism while the parking brake mechanism is in operation. A brake force is generated in the following manner. A rotation of an electric motor is slowed down by a differential speed reducing mechanism, and is converted into a linear motion by a ball ramp mechanism so as to advance a piston, which then presses a brake pad against a disk rotor to generate a brake force. A parking brake mechanism can lock a rotation of a rotor of the electric motor and maintain a braked state by rotating an engagement pawl through a plunger of a solenoid and causing the engagement pawl to be engaged with a ratchet wheel coupled to the rotor of the electric motor. A play is provided at a coupling portion of the engagement pawl and the plunger. The play enables the plunger to move within the range of the play while the engagement pawl is engaged with the ratchet wheel, thereby enabling the determination of whether the parking brake mechanism operates normally or abnormally based on whether the plunger moves or not upon application of an electric current to the solenoid while the parking brake mechanism is in an actuated state.

摘要: In an electric brake of the present invention, a plunger of an actuator is connected through a pin to a pivot arm to which an engaging pawl engageable with a tooth portion of a ratchet is pivotably attached. A lower surface (a force-receiving portion) of the pin is adapted to receive an upward force which is applied by a tool inserted through a bolt hole threadably engaged with a watertight bolt. When the parking brake is operated (the engaging pawl is engaged with the tooth portion of the ratchet), if supply of current to the coil becomes impossible, the pin is moved upward by means of the tool, to thereby separate the engaging pawl from the tooth portion. Therefore, an emergency action to release the parking brake can be manually conducted.

摘要: In an electric booster according to one embodiment of the present invention, a brake pedal is connected to a sun gear of a differential transmission mechanism corresponding to a planetary gear mechanism. 摘要: A motor-driven disk brake is capable of functioning as a parking brake satisfactorily without degrading the brake operating feeling and impairing the function of operating as a motor-driven brake. A stator and rotor of an electric motor are provided in a caliper body floatably supported on a carrier. The rotation of the rotor is transmitted to a piston after being converted into rectilinear motion through a ball-and-ramp mechanism and an adjusting nut. The piston, together with a claw member, presses brake pads against a disk rotor. A rotation assisting device is provided between the rear end of the rotor and a motor casing. A rotary disk constituting the rotation assisting device is rotated through a wire extending from an external operating member.

摘要: The present invention provides a motor driven brake system for generating and releasing braking forces by reciprocal movement of a pair of pads disposed at opposite sides of a disk having an axis. The system comprises a single electric motor, an output portion adapted to be rotated by the electric motor, a first pad pressing member for pressing a first pad against the disk a second pad pressing member for pressing a second pad against the disk, a first converting mechanism and second converting mechanism. The first converting mechanism converts rotation of the output portion to a linear motion so as to move the first pad pressing member reciprocally along the axis of the disk. The second converting mechanism converts rotation of the output portion to a linear motion so as to move the second pad pressing member reciprocally along the axis of the disk.

摘要: A motor-driven disk brake having a caliper containing a piston for pressing a brake pad, a rotary actuator and a rotary-to-rectilinear motion converting mechanism for transmitting rotation of the rotary actuator to the piston after converting it into rectilinear motion. The piston is driven in response to rotation of the rotary actuator to press the brake pad against a disk rotor, thereby generating braking force. A brake releasing mechanism for returning the rotary-to-rectilinear motion converting mechanism to its initial position in the event of a failure in the rotary actuator is interposed between a rotating member and a rectilinearly moving member that constitute the rotary-to-rectilinear motion converting mechanism. The brake releasing mechanism has an urging device for generating a torque in the direction for returning the piston in response to the rotation of the rotating member in the direction for advancing the piston. The urging device generates a torque greater than the rotational resistance of the rotating member of the rotary-to-rectilinear motion converting mechanism.
