    摘要: The present invention provides a chip discharging device for a machine tool, which is capable of making the entire machine small by minimizing a protruding amount of the chip discharging device toward the backside of the machine, and making an install space thereof small. A column 4 is arranged and fixed on an upper surface of a rear wall portion 2d of a bed 2, the rear wall portion 2d is arranged to deviate upward, rear wall inclined surfaces 2g and 2g′ rising obliquely upward are formed on a bottom portion of the rear wall portion 2d, a storage tank 27 for storing coolant is arranged inside a rectangular frame of the bed 2, the storage tank 27 having a form which extends through a space beneath the rear wall portion 2d to the backside of the machine and further stands up obliquely upward along the rear wall inclined surfaces 2g and 2g′, and a chip conveyor 26 is arranged inside the storage tank 27 for conveying chips to the backside of the machine.

    摘要: The present invention relates a tool changer controlling method and apparatus, which can reduce a tool changing time as compared with the prior art. The controlling apparatus controls operation of a tool changer (1) which comprises a changer arm (2) for holding tools (Ta,Tb) and is adapted to pivot the changer arm (2) by a driving system including a servo motor (5) and exchange the tool (Ta) attached to a main spindle (20) in a tool changing position and the tool (Tb) in a predetermined position. The servo motor (5) is driven and controlled so that the changer arm (2) is preliminarily pivoted by a predetermined angle when the main spindle (20) is moved to the tool changing position, and further pivoted to the tool changing position after the main spindle (20) reaches the tool changing position.

    摘要: A machine tool is provided which is designed so that chips generated by the machining of a workpiece can assuredly be introduced onto a chip conveyer disposed in a trough of a bed through oil pans. The machine tool includes a column provided on one end portion of a bed (11) and movable along an X-axison the bed (11), a spindle head (12) supported by the column and movable vertically up and down along a Y-axis, and a table (13) movable back and forth along a Z-axis with respect to the spindle head (12) on the bed (11). The bed (11) has a center trough (11a) formed in a widthwise middle portion thereof, and a pair of side troughs (11b) formed therein on widthwise opposite sides of the center trough (11a). A first chip conveyer (14) is provided in the center trough (11a), and second chip conveyers (15) are provided in the respective side troughs (11b). Oil pans (17) extend obliquely upward outwardly from the respective side troughs (11b) for introducing chips onto the second chip conveyers (15) provided in the side troughs (11b).
