摘要: A first evaluation signal includes a first excitation element adapted to excite pressure fluctuation in liquid contained in the pressure chamber and a first ejection element which follows the excitation element after a first time period to eject a first liquid droplet from the nozzle. A second evaluation signal includes a second excitation element adapted to excite pressure fluctuation in liquid contained in the pressure chamber and a second ejection element which follows the excitation element after a second time period to eject a second liquid droplet from the nozzle which is longer than the first time period. The first evaluation signal is supplied to the pressure generating element to measure a first ejected amount of the first liquid droplet. The second evaluation signal is supplied to the pressure generating element to measure a second ejected amount of the second liquid droplet. An ejected amount ratio of the first ejected amount and the second ejected amount is calculated. A natural vibration period of a liquid jetting head based on the ejected amount ratio.

摘要: A pressure generating element is associated with a pressure chamber communicated with a nozzle orifice. The pressure generating element is operable to generate pressure fluctuation in liquid contained in the pressure chamber to eject a liquid droplet from the nozzle orifice, when a drive signal is supplied thereto. An identifier is provided with ID information including a first deviation of an ejected liquid amount from a designed value when a drive signal at a first, regular drive frequency is supplied, and a second deviation of an ejected liquid amount from the designed value when a drive signal at a second, operable maximum drive frequency is supplied.

摘要: In an apparatus for measuring a natural period of liquid in a pressure chamber formed in a head device which is provided with a nozzle orifice communicated with the pressure chamber and an actuator which varies pressure of the liquid contained in the pressure chamber, a driver generates a plurality of drive signals, each of which drives the actuator to eject a liquid droplet from the nozzle orifice under a condition different from the conditions established by the other drive signals. A light emitter emits a light beam so as to intersect a space through which the liquid droplet passes. A light receiver receives the light beam which has been passed through the space. A first calculator calculates an ejection velocity of the liquid droplet based on a timing at which the actuator is driven and a change in a photo-receiving state of the light receiver, with regard to every drive signal. A second calculator calculates a natural period of the liquid based on a change in the ejection velocity which is obtained from the plural drive signals.

摘要: An ink-jet recording head driving method of driving an ink-jet recording head having a pressure generating device corresponding to a pressure generating chamber communicating with a jetting hole includes a driving pulse generating step of generating a driving pulse by taking out part of a driving signal having a time length corresponding to one printing cycle and including a plurality of driving pulse waves, and an ink jetting step of jetting an ink particle through the jetting hole by applying the driving pulse to the pressure generating device to drive the pressure generating device for a predetermined operation. When the driving pulse generating step and the ink jetting step are repeated a plurality of times in one printing cycle to jet a plurality of ink particles, the succeeding ink jetting step is stated a predetermined time interval T after a point when the preceding ink jetting step is ended. The predetermined time interval T is equal to or longer than one period TH of the Helmholtz vibration of the pressure generating chamber.

摘要: A drive signal for driving a ink jet recording head as an actuator device indudes an expansion potential for deforming the piezoelectric actuator so as to expand the pressure generating chamber, a contraction potential for deforming the piezoelectric actuator so as to contract the pressure generating chamber, an ejection element for varying a potential of the drive signal from the expansion potential to the contraction potential to eject the ink drop from the nozzle, and a contraction holding element for holding the second potential to keep the contracted state of the pressure generating chamber. A duration of the ejection element is determined so as to match with a natural period of the piezoelectric actuator. A duration of the contraction holding element is determined such that a resulting value by adding the duration of the ejection element and the duration of the contraction holding element is matched with a natural period of the pressure generating chamber.

摘要: A liquid ejecting head includes a plurality of nozzle groups each including a plurality of nozzle openings; and a plurality of pressure generating chambers that cause liquid to be ejected from the nozzle openings. A plurality of recessed portions are formed at a nozzle forming member, the recessed portions each having a thickness smaller than a thickness of the nozzle forming member, the nozzle openings being formed at the recessed portions. A set of at least one of the plurality of nozzle openings included in each single nozzle group defines a nozzle set, the nozzle set being arranged to correspond to each of the pressure generating chambers. The nozzle groups each have a plurality of nozzle sets in an array, the nozzle sets of one of the nozzle groups being relatively shifted from the nozzle sets of another one of the nozzle groups in a nozzle-set-array direction.
