    摘要: A target substance detecting apparatus includes a photonic crystal biosensor configured to include a photonic crystal, which has a reflection surface including concave portions and convex portions formed regularly on its surface, covered by a metal film, and reflecting light irradiated to the reflection surface; an optical detecting unit configured to irradiate parallel light to the reflection surface, and to detect reflected light of the parallel light reflected on the reflection surface; and a processing unit configured to obtain a wavelength at an extreme value of the reflected light detected by the optical detecting unit, and to detect at least whether the target substance is present or not based upon a shift of the obtained wavelength at the extreme value.

    摘要: An optical scale, a method for manufacturing an optical scale, and an optical encoder. The optical scale includes a plurality of wires provided thereon so that the wires do not intersect each other and each of the tangential directions of the respective wires changes continuously. The optical encoder includes the optical scale, a light source, an optical sensor, and a computing unit. The optical sensor includes a first polarizing layer that splits incident light that is light source light from the light source passed through or reflected on the optical scale and being incident on the first polarizing layer to a first polarization direction, a second polarizing layer that splits the incident light to a second polarization direction, a first photoreceiver that receives first polarized light split by the first polarizing layer, and a second photoreceiver that receives second polarized light split by the second polarizing layer.

    摘要: A bearing apparatus has a rolling bearing including an outer ring (11), an inner ring (12), and rolling elements (13) disposed between the two rings, and a temperature sensor (TS) for measuring an internal temperature of the rolling bearing. A wire from the temperature sensor extends to the outside via a through-hole (11d) formed in a component of the bearing apparatus, and hence the temperature sensor can be disposed in a desired position with excellent wiring extension flexibility, thereby enabling a temperature in the desired position of the bearing to be measured. The temperature sensor, which can be configured thin in a small size with flexibility, can therefore be incorporated into whichever portion of the bearing, wherein a high response to temperature detection is attained, and detectability of abnormality in temperature can be improved.
