    摘要: In an image signal recording system for recording on a recording medium an original image signal corresponding to an original picture which is comprised of a plurality of pixels, the original picture is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks each consisting of a predetermined number of pixels, and image signals each corresponding to the associated pixel block divided are recorded on the recording medium in accordance with a first recording mode and a second recording mode which are mutually different in a recording format. Either of the first and second recording modes is selected on each of the plurality of pixel blocks and a recording mode information signal corresponding to the selected recording mode is generated. There are recorded on the recording medium, the first image information signal or the second image information signal formed and the recording mode information signal generated, on a multiple basis. Thus, it is possible to provide the image signal recording system capable of efficiently recording image signals while suppressing a deterioration of the image quality.

    摘要: An apparatus for recording and/or reproducing video signals is disclosed. First and second video signals from an imaging unit and an external video input, respectively, are coupled to the apparatus. A converter circuit selectively acts to form a time expanded or time compressed version of the input video signal depending upon whether the input is the first or second input signal. In the former case, the first input video is recorded on a recording medium and the time expanded version coupled to a display, while in the latter case, the second input video signal is coupled to the display and the compressed version recorded. During the reproduction, the converter circuit also generates a time expanded version of the reproduced signal for coupling to the display.

    摘要: An image information signal transmitting system of this invention is a system which divides an image information signal for one picture constituted by a set of picture element data into blocks each constituted by a predetermined quantity of picture element data, transmits the picture element data on each of the blocks on the basis of a mode selected from among a plurality of transmission modes each of which allows a different quantity of picture element data to be transmitted and a mode information signal indicative of the transmission mode of each of the blocks, and restores the picture element data on each of the blocks to the original image information signal. With this arrangement, it is possible to realize reductions in the size, weight and cost of the apparatus without deteriorating an image information signal to be transmitted.
