    摘要: A brightness controlling apparatus adjusts a brightness level of a video signal inputted thereto and outputting the video signal having the adjusted brightness level to a display apparatus so that the display apparatus displays a video image corresponding to the video signal on the basis of the video signal having the adjusted brightness level. The brightness controlling apparatus is provided with: an average brightness level detecting device for detecting average brightness levels of the video signal in a plurality of blocks respectively, the blocks being obtained by dividing the video signal to be displayed on a picture plane by the display apparatus into the blocks; an average brightness level adding device for adding to each other the average brightness levels of the video signal in at least two of the blocks at a vicinity of each other for each of the blocks, which are detected by the average brightness level detecting device; a brightness level setting device for setting the brightness level of the video signal on the basis of the added average brightness levels added by the average brightness level adding device; and an outputting device for outputting the video signal having the brightness level set by the brightness level setting device to the display apparatus as the video signal having the adjusted brightness level.

    摘要: An image processor of an image processor system acquires outputted image data from an image-data output unit, and generates first quality-adjusted image data and second quality-adjusted image data each of which has been processed under a different quality adjustment condition. The image processor controls a display to display in a display area a first time-division-comparison image having a first quality adjusted image based on the first quality-adjusted image data and a second time-division-comparison image having a second quality-adjusted image based on the second quality-adjusted image data in an alternately-switching manner. With this arrangement, the first and second quality-adjusted images can be displayed without reducing a scale of the entirety. Thus, a user can view the images processed under different quality-adjustment conditions alternately in the same size as the actual size. In addition, since motion images are switchably displayed, continuously-inputted images such as broadcast can be compared with each other in real time. Accordingly, a user can suitably compare quality of the images.

The display device includes a plurality of display cells for creating the image from pixel signals with different emission colors according to the signal levels thereof. The display cells are arrayed in a matrix. The display device includes a brightness level calculation circuit for calculating emission brightness of the displayed image, and generating a brightness level signal that indicates the level of the emission brightness. The display device also includes an emission level correction circuit for correcting the signal levels of pixel signals included in the image signal for respective emission colors according to the brightness level signal.
