    Abstract: Sintered cemented carbide powder compositions for use in the production of various articles by additive manufacturing are described. The individual particles of the powder compositions comprise metal carbide particles sintered together with a metallic binder. The sintered cemented carbide particles comprise a monomodal particle size distribution in which the sintered cemented carbide particles have a D50 of greater than 12 μm and a D10 of greater than 5 μm. The metallic binder may be present in an amount of from 9 to 11 weight percent based on total weight of the sintered cemented carbide particles. Sintered cemented carbide bodies comprising the described sintered cemented carbide powder compositions are also described. Methods of making the sintered cemented carbide powder compositions, and methods of making the sintered cemented carbide bodies are also described.

    Abstract: In one aspect, rotary cutting tools are described herein comprising sets of coolant channels having exit aperture in the flutes of the tools for efficient coolant delivery to multiple cutting surfaces. Briefly, a rotary cutting tool comprises a shank portion, and a cutting portion extending from the shank portion along a longitudinal axis, the cutting portion comprising flutes helically extending along the longitudinal axis and internal coolant channels comprising exit apertures in the flutes. A projection of an exit aperture of a first set of internal coolant channels intersects a rake face extending below a corner edge of the rotary cutting tool, and a projection of an exit aperture of a second set of internal coolant channels intersects a rake face below a radial cutting edge of the rotary cutting tool.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a method for fabricating a three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet part, the method comprising forming the three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet part by an additive manufacturing technique; encapsulating the three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet part in a conformable fugitive material to form an encapsulated three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet part; and cold isostatic pressing the encapsulated three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet part with pressurized incompressible fluid that contacts the conformable fugitive material. Also disclosed are three-dimensional metal, ceramic, and/or cermet parts fabricated according to said method.
