摘要: An automatic system for removing tea from a teapot is disclosed. The present invention incorporates the use of a timing mechanism, a release mechanism and an infuser mechanism to automatically remove the tea from hot water. The timing mechanism is user set and controls the length of time the tea is steeped in hot water. The infuser mechanism comprises a filter element that holds the tea in contact with the hot water and a counterbalance that rotates the filter element out of the water when released and the release mechanism that releases the infuser mechanism when the time has expired.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for updating and recovering firmware within computers over a distributed network. While a computer is in an operating system independent state, a determination is made as to whether the firmware within the computer is valid. The firmware may be the BIOS for the computer. If it is determined that the current firmware is invalid, a recovery request is sent to a manager computer monitoring for recovery requests. The manager computer sends a new firmware image over the network to the computer. The invalid firmware is then updated with the new firmware image. An instruction to update the firmware of the computer may also be sent from a manager computer to computers monitoring for instructions. When the instruction is received, the computer transitions to an operating system independent recovery state, receives a new firmware image over the network, and updates with the new firmware image.

摘要: A plurality of titanium sheets are assembled into a stack. At least one of the sheets is provided with a stop off material on one of its surfaces to prevent diffusion bonding at predetermined positions. The edges of the sheets are welded together and a pipe is welded to the stack to interconnect with the stop off material to form a sealed assembly. The assembly is heated and externally pressurized to diffusion bond the sheets together. The integral structure so formed is heated and opposite ends of the integral structure are twisted relatively to contour the integral structure to a predetermined shape. The integral structure is internally pressurized to break the adhesive bonds. The integral structure is heated and internally pressurized to superplastically form one sheet to produce an article, e.g. a fan blade.

摘要: A system and method for assisting a user in assembling a culinary combination according to a recipe. The system comprises a scale and a computing device configured to communicate with the scale. The system displays information regarding ingredients of the recipe and displays a progress of assembling the culinary combination based on the information from the scale. In some embodiments, a bar graph is displayed with a bar proportional to the measured amount of an ingredient of the recipe compared to a target amount for the ingredient. In some embodiments, the system displays a build column of one or more recipe blocks, representing actions or ingredients of the recipe. An active recipe block is displayed with a portion of the recipe block displayed in a different manner in proportion to the measured amount of an ingredient of the recipe compared to a target amount for the ingredient.

摘要: The present teachings relate to techniques and equipment to insert documents into either letter envelopes or flat mail envelopes on the same dual mode mailing inserter without the need to do machine setup between letter and flat mail envelope insertion. The dual mode mail inserting machine is configured to accept documents from a printer that are designed for insertion into flat mail envelope. If a document plus its inserts and envelope weighs less than a predetermined weight, the document will be diverted from the normal flat mail path to a second inserter and output section.

摘要: These systems and methods make use of operating system dependent applications that allow remote updates to firmware stored on network attached remote computers. Updates to the remote computers may occur on any computer in the network despite diverse hardware architectures and various operating systems executing between the computers. A command to update the firmware on the remote computers is initiated from a manager utility application operating on a network attached manager computer. The command is then received at an agent application operating on each remote computer. Each agent application monitors command activity via a communication port. Upon determining that the command is valid, each agent application receives an update application and a new firmware file from a network attached computer or data storage and utilizes the update application and the new firmware file to update the firmware of each network attached computer.

摘要: A portable communications device, e.g., a cell phone with a simplified user interface and easy to use keys is described. The user interface supports book type and circular type applications. Book interface type applications are applications in which a user is stopped from moving beyond the last page when a next page operation is selected. In circular applications a user is allowed to move from the last page of an application to the first page of the application by selecting a next page option. Regardless of the application type, in response to a displayed page a user, in some embodiments, is presented with at most 4 options. This allows navigation between applications, pages and selection of actions corresponding to pages to be supported using relatively few keys, e.g., 4 keys, thereby allowing the number of keys on the phone to be kept small and the key size large.

摘要: A computer device is provided for determining remaining seats in a booking class having a maximum number of seats, which communicates with a user's computer device over a network to receive a user query, associated with travel parameters and including an amount of persons and at least two connect points, and obtains a schedule corresponding thereto. The schedule includes a cabin class with booking classes ranked by a criteria between a highest and a lowest booking class, the lowest booking class being a subset of the highest booking class. The computer device selects a least-cost-fare booking class from the ranked booking classes, which has an actual number of available seats at least equal to the amount of persons requesting seats and an applicable fare meeting the travel parameters, and provides an indicia thereof to the user, in direct response to the query. Associated systems and methods are also provided.

摘要: A target time stamp on a target time-base is obtained from a originating time stamp on an originating time-base of an audio video transport system by first taking samples simultaneously from transport streams having the originating time-base and target timebase, respectively. A current sample and an immediately preceding sample for the originating time-base and target time-base are stored, respectively. A first difference is determined between the current sample and an immediately preceding sample for the originating time-base and a second difference is determined between the current sample and an immediately preceding sample for the target time-base, respectively. The first difference is added to the current sample of the originating time base and the second difference is added to the current sample of the target time-base if the current sample is less than the originating time-stamp and the first difference is subtracted from the current sample of the originating time base and the second difference is subtracted from the current sample of the target time-base if the current sample is greater than the originating timestamp. The first difference and the second difference are halved and the addition or subtraction and halving iterated until the first difference or the second difference is negligibly small. The iterated current sample of the target time-base is output as the target time-stamp.
