摘要： A novel means for reducing the maintenance costs of cobra head lighting fixtures is presented, comprised of a new housing with a hinge at one end that allows the upper half of the housing to be lifted up for easy access to the lamp and ballast. There is a contact pressure switch in the enclosure which is opened electrically when the upper housing is lifted so that power to the entire enclosure is cut for the safety of the installer. The combination of the switch and the liftable upper housing reduces the steps necessary to do a bulb replacement.

摘要： An improved ceiling light fixture reflector is presented where the reflector is completely sealed to prevent any heated air from escaping through the fixture or its surrounds. The reflector also prevents cooled air from air conditioning from escaping through the fixture apertures. This improved insulation of ceiling lighting fixtures helps to eliminate the conversion of snow into ice on the surface of roofs due to the escape of moist, heated air through the ceiling and then to the roof, where it freezes into ice and expands thereby cracking the roof.During warmer months, this improved airtight lighting fixture also reduces cooled air losses and improves the air conditioning efficiency of buildings and saves energy.

摘要： One aspect of the present invention relates to an all-dry encapsulation method that enables well-defined polymers to be applied around particles of sizes down to the nanoscale. In certain embodiments, the methods are modified forms of initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD) using a thermally-initiated radical polymerization to create conformal coatings around individual particles while avoiding agglomeration. The present invention also enables the coating of particle surfaces with a range of functional groups via direct incorporation of the functionality into the monomers used or indirectly through a subsequent modification of the surface of a coated particle. In certain embodiments, the method produces high quality functional polymer coatings.

摘要： Disclosed is an apparatus for a data storage library comprising at least one of a plurality of docking stations adapted to receive a disc drive magazine wherein the magazine comprises a plurality of disc drives. The docking station is adapted to receive the disc drive magazine via a loading device capable of automatically engaging the magazine with the at least one docking station to establish a communication link between the magazine and the at least one docking station. A retaining device is adapted to retain the magazine when engaged with the at least one docking station and when the magazine is in at least an active state. The library comprises at least one interface that is adapted to establish a communication link capable of transferring data between at least one data consumer and the library. The disc drive magazine when linked with the at least one docking station is capable of storing data received by the at least one data consumer. The magazine is capable of changing from a fully active state to at least one quiescent state when storage operations as performed by the magazine requires less than a fully active magazine.
