摘要: A method and apparatus for preparing yeast raised doughnuts without frying is disclosed. A proven dough mixture is coated with a cooking fat, such as vegetable shortening, before baking and, subsequently coated with cooking fat again after baking so that the resultant product does not consist of a bread-like substance.

摘要: A vent assembly (453) for a high pressure die casting system comprising a pair of opposed chill blocks (450, 452) having corresponding chill surfaces defining a continuous vent chamber therebetween, each of the chill surfaces comprising a plurality of adjoining chill faces (62, 136, 162, 163, 170) extending the length of the vent chamber, each chill face having a corresponding chill face on the paired chill block defining a section of the vent chamber, the plane of each chill face being oriented at an angle to an adjoining chill face on the corresponding block. Preferably the chill face on a chill block is substantially equidistant from the chill face of the corresponding chill block defining the respective section of the vent chamber.

摘要: A computer-readable medium comprising computer-readable instructions for administering a wellness program, wherein execution of the computer-readable instructions causes one or more processors to carry out steps. Data corresponding to physical and psychological characteristics of at least one patient is received. One or more risk factors are determined corresponding to one or more conditions based, at least in part, on the physical and psychological characteristics of the at least one patient. One or more wellness prescriptions are determined based, at least in part, on the one or more risk factors and the physical and psychological characteristics of the at least one patient.

摘要: A transient in a digital audio signal can be detected by generating a first set of spectral characteristics associated with a first portion of the digital audio signal and a second set of spectral characteristics associated with a second portion of the digital audio signal, wherein the first and second portions of the digital audio signal partially overlap, comparing values in the first set of spectral characteristics with corresponding values in the second set of spectral characteristics to generate a set of ratios, weighting the set of ratios, and analyzing at least a portion of the weighted set of ratios to detect a transient associated with the first portion of the digital audio signal. Further, an indicator identifying the presence of a detected transient can be output. Additionally, one or more ratios in the set of ratios can be weighted based on amplitude, frequency, or a power function.

摘要: A graphical user interface is configured to display information related to diagnosis and/or repair of various objects, such as automobiles. The GUI displays relevant reference information, of any type, next to procedure steps of a selected diagnostic or repair procedure. Advantageously, reference information from multiple sources may be automatically selected for display in the GUI according to a current task that is selected by the user. Accordingly, a technician viewing the GUI does not need to access any other reference information, valuable man hours are spared, and efficiency increases. In one embodiment, the layout and immediate availability of relevant reference information may also increase the learning capabilities of the viewing technician. Thus, the layout of information in the GUI as described herein may facilitate increased employee productivity and increased employee learning.

摘要: A radiation modulating device and methods enhance the delivery of radiation by modulating the intensity of a radiation beam. A radiation modulating device may be placed between any radiation source and any target such that at least some portion of the radiation beam emitted from the source passes through the radiation modulating device before reaching a target. In one embodiment of the present invention, a radiation modulating device may include a housing and a core. A housing may be configured to support a core and a core may be configured to partially or wholly block one or more portions of radiation emitted from a radiation source. The configuration of the core may be based on a distribution of intensities of radiation desired to be delivered to a target. Though a radiation modulating device according to various aspects of the present invention may be used for any of a number of purposes, one use for the device is to enhance the delivery of radiation therapy to cancer patients.

摘要: Data, such as pages of vehicle specification manuals, is received from reference information sources, in various formats, converted to a known format, and stored in a data store. Because all of the data is stored in a known format, users may more easily search information from multiple specification manuals. The pages of the specification manual that are stored in the data store are tagged according to content of the pages, so that pages of a specification manual that may be relevant to a specific diagnostic procedure, repair procedure, or system of the automobile may be easily located and transmitted to the user. The tags may also be used to generate multiple enhanced procedure lists including, for example, all categorized data that is relevant to a specific procedure, such as steps of the procedure and links to reference information related to steps of the procedure.
