摘要: A system and method emulate an echo signal from an emulated target in response to a radar signal from a radar DUT. The system includes an antenna configured to receive the radar signal, and to direct a reflected portion of the radar signal away from an incident direction of the radar signal at a predetermined deflection angle to prevent the radar DUT from receiving the reflected portion; and a transceiver configured to provide an RF signal having an RF frequency shifted from a frequency of the radar signal in an amount indicating a distance to the emulated target, and to transmit the RF signal to the radar DUT as an emulated echo signal. An antenna pattern includes a peak beam angled away from a normal incidence of the antenna at a beam squint angle that compensates for the predetermined deflection angle to direct the peak beam toward the radar DUT.

摘要: A system tests a device under test (DUT) that includes an antenna. The system includes a probe antenna, a network emulator, and a near-field antenna. The probe antenna measures beam characteristics of a beam-locked beam emitted over the air by the antenna of the DUT as the DUT is moved relative to the probe antenna during testing of the DUT. The network emulator emulates a base station of a communications network in communications with the DUT. The near-field antenna maintains a call link between the network emulator and the DUT using surface waves between the near-field antenna and the DUT as the DUT is moved relative to the probe antenna.

摘要: A method determines far field EVM of a DUT using over-the-air (OTA) testing, the DUT having a transmitter/receiver and an antenna that are integrated together such that there is no connection port for interfacing a test system for directly measuring the EVM. Modulated RF signals transmitted by the DUT propagate OTA via the antenna. The method includes performing a near field scan of a bounded radiation surface, which includes measurement points at which waveforms of a repeatedly transmitted modulated RF signal are measured; downconverting the waveforms to intermediate frequency (IF), and digitizing the IF waveforms; synthesizing digital waveforms corresponding to the IF waveforms; accounting for corresponding RF propagation in the far field for the digital waveforms; providing a modulated digital IF waveform using the digital waveforms for which RF propagation has been accounted; and calculating EVM of the DUT in the far field using the modulated digital IF waveform.

摘要: A variable gain horn and a system for testing an antenna with the variable gain horn is disclosed. The variable gain horn includes a horn adapted to transmit electromagnetic signals to an antenna under test. The horn is adapted to have a diverging lens attached and detached without fasteners at its distal end of the horn by a form fit. When the diverging lens is not attached, the variable gain horn transmit the electromagnetic signals at a higher directivity than when the variable gain horn with the diverging lens attached to the distal end. The system also comprises a parabolic mirror adapted to reflect the electromagnetic signals incident thereon from the variable gain horn to an antenna under test (AUT).

摘要: A system for receiving a radar signal transmitted by a radar device under test (DUT) includes: a plurality of antennae disposed in an array of rows and columns; a plurality of radar target simulators (RTS's), one or more of the plurality of RTS's being selectively connected to each of rows or columns of the plurality of antennae. The plurality of antennae are adapted to receive signals selectively from the one or more RTS's connected to the column or row, and to transmit to the signals to the DUT. The system also includes a switching matrix adapted to selectively switch between selected antennae in each of the columns or each of the rows of the plurality of antennae to connect selected respective RTS's of the plurality of RTS's to selected active antennae of the plurality of antennae in a time division manner.

The MRTS and system are useful for emulating echo signals for a radar DUT with reduced interference. Illustrative radar test systems desirably generate the intended (emulated) radar targets and reduce unwanted (“ghost”) signals, which can result in “ghost targets,” and errant/ambient electromagnetic radiation that reduces the performance and reliability of known re-illuminators and systems including same.

摘要: An apparatus is for generating an emulated radar reflection signal of a target. The apparatus includes a radar detector configured to detect a radar signal frame emitted by a device under test (DUT), an emulation transmitter configured to generate an emulated radar reflection signal of a target being emulated, and a processor configured to generate control signals which control the emulation transmitter according to at least one characteristic of the target being emulated. The processor is further configured to determine a current radar parameter among plural possible radar parameters of the radar signal frame of the DUT, and to adapt the control signals which control the emulation transmitter according to the determined current radar parameter of the radar signal frame of the DUT.
