摘要: In a TFT type liquid crystal display device comprising first and second transparent substrates and a liquid crystal layer which is sandwiched between the first and second substrates, the first substrate includes a plurality of video signal lines, a plurality of scanning signal lines and a plurality of pixel regions which are formed as regions surrounded by the video signal lines and the scanning signal lines, each pixel region includes at least one active element, one pixel electrode and one common electrode, and color filter layers are formed between the pixel electrodes and the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal display device is substantially characterized in that the common electrodes are formed as layers above the color filters, the pixel electrodes are formed as layers below the color filters, and the color filters are superposed at least on the whole surfaces of the pixel electrodes in the pixel region.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates with a liquid crystal layer therebetween, and a plurality of pixel regions defined by gate signal lines and drain signal lines. A counter electrode which is planar with a substantially rectangular shape is formed on each pixel region, with a pixel electrode having a plurality of slits in overlapping relationship with the counter electrode. A counter voltage signal line is formed in parallel with the gate signal lines and connected with the counter electrode, a first contact hole for connecting the pixel electrode and a source electrode, a connection line and second and third contact holes are provided. The counter electrode is arranged so as to not overlap the first contact hole.

摘要: In a liquid crystal display device including a pair of substrates which face each other with a liquid crystal layer disposed therebetween, a plurality of pixel regions which are formed on one substrate, a planar counter electrode which is formed on each pixel region, and a comb-shaped or slit-shaped pixel electrode which is formed on each pixel region, the comb-shaped or slit-shaped pixel electrode being formed over the counter electrode by way of an insulation layer, a notch or a slit is formed in the counter electrode such that a wiring layer made of an opaque material which transmits a potential to the pixel electrode from a thin film transistor defines a region where the wiring layer is not overlapped relative to the counter electrode.
