摘要: Methods and apparatuses for performing patient registration. 3D scan data from a 3D scanner, preoperative image data, first tracking data from a first tracking system, and second tracking data from a second tracking system are mapped to a common coordinate space. The 3D scan data and the first tracking data are mapped to each other using a transformation that is determined based on a calibration relating the 3D scan coordinate space and the tracking coordinate space. The 3D scan data and the preoperative image data are mapped to each other using a surface matching algorithm. The first tracking data and the second tracking data are mapped to each other based on tracking of the patient reference device.

摘要: A handheld scanner is provided for use in registering a patient for a medical procedure with a medical navigation system. The handheld scanner has a housing having a main body portion having a first end and a second end and a handle portion having a first end and a second end with the second end attached to the second end of the main body portion with a bridge portion. The handheld scanner further has a circuit board contained in the housing, a processor connected to the circuit board, a light emitter contained in the main body portion and connected to the circuit board, a light detector contained in the main body portion and connected to the circuit board, and a button connected to the circuit board and located on the second end of the handle portion. The button is engageable by a thumb of a hand holding the handle portion.

摘要: A RF coil array is provided for imaging a chest wall of a patient including a breast. The RF coil array includes a rigid cup-shaped element and a flexible, substantially flat portion. The rigid cup-shaped element is sized and dimensioned to receive a small breast, such as a post mastectomy breast or a male breast, and the flexible portion is configured to be conformed to the patient adjacent the breast to allow for imaging of the breast, and adjacent areas while facing the chest wall.

摘要: A patient support structure for positioning a selected anatomy of interest for imaging in a magnetic resonance imaging scanner is disclosed. The structure includes a receptacle for receiving a removable tray that includes connectors for connecting local RF coils housed in the array to the MRI scanner, and connectors for positioning the local RF coils adjacent an area of interest to be imaged. A structure for elevating the patient support is also disclosed.

摘要: A device and method is provided for a trackable suction tool for surgical use. The tracked suction tool includes a tubular handle with a main tube and an entrance tube extending from the main tube, a flattened section of the main tube with a suction-regulating orifice, a tip connected to the main tube distal end and a tracking mechanism connected to a handle proximal end. A method is provided for tracking the position of a tracked suction device including attaching a tip to a handle in one of a plurality of fixed positions, attaching a tracking mechanism to the handle in one of a plurality of fixed positions, calibrating the position of the tip with a positional tracking system using the tracking mechanism, positioning the tracking markers in view of the positional tracking system and tracking a position of the distal end of the tip of the suction device.
