Abstract:
Means for joining concrete piles (10) comprising a fixed end shoe (11) on each of the adjacent pile ends, and elements for joining the piles at the end shoes. Said elements include a number of guides (12) opening at the outside of the pile close to the adjacent pile ends, guides in one pile being located opposite to guides in the pile, and locking members (18), spanning the joint between the piles, which are driven from the outside into guides located opposite to each other in the pile ends to press said ends together by wedge action between guides and locking members. The guides (12) are dimensioned in relation to the locking members (18) so as to effect plastic stretching of the locking members after an initial displacement when the locking members are driven into the guides.
Abstract:
Method of controlling impact force and shock interval at a drop hammer of the type which has a core (10) and a number of casings (12, 14, 16, 19) arranged concentrically around the core. Between the core and the casings, spacings are arranged, and the core and the casings are interconnected alternatingly at one end and the other beginning at the upper end of the core. Between the lower end of the core and those ends of one or more casings, which are not permanently connected, a shock wave transferring connection is provided to short-circuit the path of the shock wave through the core and the casings.
Abstract:
A method is provided for final rinsing in a dish washing machine with clean hot water from a water heater having an elongated standing flow tank which has a cold water inlet with a shut-off valve at the bottom and a hot water outlet at the top and a heating element in the lower part. The temperature of the water is sensed at a location above the lower end of the tank. The shut-off valve is opened for supply of cold water under pressure to the lower end of the tank. Hot water is delivered from the upper end of the tank. The period from opening of the shut-off valve to the time of sensing a temperature decrease in a boundary layer between hot and cold water at the above-mentioned location is measured and on the basis thereof the flow and the period for movement of the boundary layer from this location to a desired position in the tank is calculated.
Abstract:
Moving ramp intended e.g. for transportation of people, comprising plates (10) supported by wheels, which are guided for movement at an upper level to form the loaded part of the moving ramp, and at a lower level which is substantially parallel with the upper level, to form the returning part of the moving ramp, adjacent plates in each part being close to each other. Stationary guides (16, 17) are provided as upper and lower runway tracks for the wheeled plates. The plates at the edges thereof are pivotally connected to endless chains (14) at one end of the plates the chains extending along the parts to be driven in one direction in the upper part and in the opposite direction in the lower part, a sprocket wheel (15) being provided for each chain (14) at each end thereof defining the distance between the parts. The other end of the plates is free for angular adjustment. For lowering and raising, respectively, the plates by engagement with the end of the plates which can be freely adjusted angularly, a rotating element (20, 22) driven synchronously with the sprocket wheel is provided at each end of the moving ramp. A number of drive stations for the endless chains are distributed along the length of the chains at least in the upper part thereof.
