Abstract:
The disposable filter unit according to the present invention comprises a filter fixing member 3 with a socket-type recess 7 into which the front side of a feed member 2 interspersed with a feed channel 4 is inserted sealingly. Between these two members, a filter element 12 is inserted, which filter element is supported by the ground 15 of the socket-type recess 7 inside the filter fixing member 3. The edges 13 and 16 of the feed member 2 and the filter fixing member 3 are knife-type cutting edges such that, when these two members are put together, the filter element 12 is cut to size from a sheet-type filter material. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for manufacturing disposable filter units. This method is characterized by that several feed members and several filter fixing members are put together simultaneously, whereat the filter elements are simultaneously cut to size from a sheet-type filter material, for example from a leaf-type or a ribbon-type filter material.
Abstract:
A backpressure grid plate is provided for a pressure filtration system of the type comprising a housing with an inlet and outlet for conducting fluid to be treated, a filter disposed in the housing between said inlet and outlet, and a backpressure grid means arranged between the filter and the inlet. The backpressure grid means comprises a plate containing minute openings which are equal in size and distributed unevenly over the surface area of the plate in such manner that the surface distribution density of the openings is lowest within an inner impact area of the plate which receives inflowing fluid to be filtered and is highest within a proximity area of the plate located immediately adjacent to and surrounding the impact area. The surface distribution density of the openings within an outer area surrounding the proximity area is lower than that of the proximity area and higher than that of the impact area.
Abstract:
A disposable filter unit (1) comprises a two-part fluid-tight and pressure-resistant housing with funnel-shaped inlet and outlet connecting sleeves (3,20). Two filter supports (5,12) are fixed in a fluid-tight and form-locking manner within the housing, and the filter element fixed between the supports. The filter supports (5,12) are essentially circular grate-shaped plates including concentrically arranged coplanar circular webs (16) defining concentrically arranged circular gaps (19) therebetween and a centrally arranged baffle plate (17). The webs and plate are fixed at their back side, facing away from the filter element, with radially extending support webs (18).
Abstract:
A housing for single-use pressure filtration units comprises upper and lower parts. A filter element is to be clamped between the housing parts. The upper housing part, preferably molded in one piece of synthetic material, includes a plurality of radial ribs which hold the filter element down, and a baffle disk supported solely by the ribs. The disk is spaced beneath the axial inlet duct to prevent direct impingement of axially incoming pressurized fluid against the filter element. Only some of the ribs support the disk, the remaining ribs terminating short of the disk to promote uniform radial distribution of fluid deflected by the disk. Radially inner ends of the disk support ribs are inclined downwardly and inwardly and act in funnel-like fashion on the inflowing fluid.
Abstract:
A pressure filtration apparatus including an upper portion with an inflow channel and a discharge channel for the concentrate and a lower portion with a filter support and a discharge channel for the filtrate, the upper and lower portions being releaseably connectable with one another while forming a pressure space. The apparatus contains a distributor plate whose underside is disposed parallel to the upper side of the filter and snugly above the latter while forming an intervening space, and in the center of which is an opening for the concentrate discharge channel. The outer edge of the distributor plate forms a small annular opening which extends all around closely against a basically vertically interior of the pressure space. The top side of the distributor plate has a peripherally raised outer edge which while forming a narrow annular clearance extends to close up against a downwardly pointing horizontal interior wall of the upper portion. The distributor plate has an annular distributor ring surface which grows steadily deeper from the outer edge toward the center of the distributor plate and in the center has a short connecting bushing by way of which the distributor plate is secured to the upper portion and through which the discharge channel for the concentrate runs. The apparatus also includes an inflow channel which opens up in the upper portion in the region of the deepest point of the distributor ring surface above the latter, and at least along a length disposed in front of the opening determining the direction of flow of the emerging inflow current, slopes toward the horizontal at an angle of about 35.degree. to about 55.degree., preferably about 45.degree., and relative to the vertical projection of its axis runs basicaly tangentially to the vertical projection of the distributor ring surface. In preferred embodiments of the invention, the upper portion, lower portion, the distributor plate, the inflow channel, the inflow channel bushing, the filter support, the filtrate discharge channel, and the filtrate discharge bushing may be made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). If all are made of PTFE, the inflow, the concentrate and the filtrate will be in contact only with PTFE.
