A radiation thermometer measures temperature of the eardrum. The thermometer comprises a signal processor for calculating a temperature from an output of a light receptor, which receives only the infrared rays radiated directly from the eardrum and/or vicinity of it, and a notification system for notifying the temperature resulted from the calculation. Since the structure does not receive an influence of any radiant heats from other than those of the eardrum and/or vicinity of it, temperature change of a probe does not become a factor of measuring errors, so as to offer an accurate measurement of temperatures. The measuring time is calculated on the basis of a required measurement error, so that a temperature can be measured in a suitable time corresponding to a required allowable error. A probe is formed of a porous structure so as to improve the heat insulating effect thereof, and an auxiliary adapter is provided to permit the thermometer to be fitted better in the earhole in spite of an individual difference in size thereof with the function of reporting a relative ovulation date based on a desired delivery date also incorporated in the themometer.
