    摘要: A magneto-optical recording and reproducing apparatus includes a magnetic head for modulating a magnetic field according to a recording signal. There are three separate coils around a single magnetic core the magnetic head. Three coil driving circuits are included, each one associated with a separate coil for switching the direction of magnetic field generated by said separate coils. A selecting circuit is used for starting or stopping the transmission of the recording signal to the coil driving circuits.

    摘要: First, a recording magnetic field is generated by a magnetic head using a coil drive current a.sub.1, and a first data signal is recorded on a groove of a recording layer of a magneto-optical disk. Thereafter, similarly, a second data signal is recorded on the same groove as above by a coil drive current a.sub.2. In this case, the first and second data signals have different signal frequencies which do not overlap each other. The amplitude A.sub.1 of the coil drive current a.sub.1, is set greater than the amplitude A.sub.2 of the coil drive current a.sub.2. This arrangement permits multiple recording and increases the recording capacity of the magneto-optical disk.

    摘要: In an optical information recording-reproduction apparatus, a focus servo control circuit generates a focus error signal and a light beam is accurately converged on a surface of an optical disk according to a focus servo control signal based upon the focus error signal. In accordance with the present invention, the focus error signal is compensated by selecting a land section focus offset amount by a switch when land sections are tracked, and it is compensated by selecting a groove section focus offset amount when groove sections are tracked. As a result, since the land sections and the groove sections are controlled by different focus servo control signals, recording and reproducing operations are carried out at the most optimal focusing positions respectively obtainable, thereby making it possible to significantly improve the quality of a reproduced signal.

    摘要: The present invention provides an electromagnetic field generating element, an information recording/reproducing head, and an information recording/reproducing apparatus. The electromagnetic field generating element makes it possible to restrain magnetic field attenuation or magnetic field delay in a high frequency recording/reproducing head for use in thermally assisted magnetic field recording/reproduction using a near field. The information recording/reproducing head and the information recording/reproducing apparatus can carry out high frequency magnetic recording/reproducing.The electromagnetic field generating element of the present invention includes: (i) a substrate, (ii) conductors each provided on the substrate and each serving as a supporting section, (iii) a plate-like-shaped conductor provided on the conductors and (iv) a semiconductor laser element provided on the substrate. The semiconductor laser element irradiated, to the plate-like-shaped conductor, laser light substantially parallel to an extending flat surface of the plate-like-shaped conductor. This causes generation of the near field in the plate-like-shaped conductor. Moreover, a magnetic field is generated by supplying a current to the plate-like-shaped conductor.
