    摘要： A DVD player and a method of reproducing multimedia files using the DVD player are provided. The DVD player and the method can improve practical applicability and usefulness of a common DVD player by enabling reproduction of multimedia (moving picture) information stored in various multimedia formats (such as, moving picture experts group (MPEG)-4, digital video express (DivX)) via codecs. Codecs that correspond to various multimedia formats are downloaded via a memory stick or other external port so that not only multimedia information stored in MPEG-2 format, which is the basic DVD format, but also multimedia information recorded in various other multimedia formats such as MEPG-4 and DivX, can be reproduced.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for searching compressed nucleic acid sequences are disclosed. In the method, a reference sequence is compared with a subject sequence to be encoded, the subject sequence is compressed, an index is created with respect to the reference sequence and the compressed subject sequence, a position corresponding to a query is searched for in the compressed subject sequence using the index, a character found at the position within the compressed sequence is converted into a sequence, and the sequence is output as the response to the query.

    摘要： A timestamping apparatus and method are provided. The timestamping apparatus implements timestamping on a synchronization message at a physical layer when the synchronization message is transmitted to the physical layer. At an application layer of the timestamping apparatus, a bit stream including a start indicator bit informing a start of a pseudo random number sequence, the pseudo random number sequence, and an end indicator bit informing an end of the pseudo random number sequence is generated to check whether or not a message received from the physical layer is the synchronization message, and is inserted as signature information of the synchronization message. At the physical layer of the timestamping apparatus, the signature information included in the synchronization message is detected, and timestamping information is generated when the signature information is detected.
