A system in which a source device can withdraw a Rights Object (RO) that a source device requested a target device to move through a Rights Issuer (RI) and operation method thereof are provided. The method includes transmitting a rights object withdrawal request message to a rights issuing server by a device, transmitting a rights object withdrawal response message to the device by the rights issuing server in response to the rights object withdrawal request message, and withdrawing and installing a corresponding rights object when receiving the rights object withdrawal response message by the device.

A rights objects acquisition method of a mobile terminal in a digital right management system is provided for acquiring multiple rights objects in a composite manner. An objects right acquisition method of a mobile terminal may include generating, in response to a group rights object (RO) acquisition command, a group rights object acquisition request with content identifiers assigned to individual contents corresponding to the rights objects indicated by the group rights object acquisition command, sending the group rights object acquisition request to a rights issuer; and receiving an group rights object acquisition response containing rights object identifiers assigned to the rights objects from the rights issuer. The present invention streamlines the RO acquisition process, especially when acquiring multiple ROs.

A digital content distribution method and system for delivering a content package including a Digital Rights Management (DRM) content and an advertisement content which is played to generate a license for playing the DRM content is disclosed. The content object format of the present invention includes a target content object; a pilot content object containing specific advertisement data; and a header indicating locations of the target content object and the pilot content object.
Abstract:
A license consignment method and system for a portable device playing a right-protected content with a license is provided for improving utilization reliability and manageability of a license by enabling a license server to manage the license consigned by the portable device. The method includes selecting a license to be consigned to a license server, transmitting the license server license information corresponding to the selected license, and transmitting, when the license is not downloaded in a certain time, a download trigger message to the portable device.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for providing a DRM service in a user terminal apparatus providing an adaptive streaming service. Content protection information is received that includes information about multiple DRM systems applied to specific content provided using the adaptive streaming service. A specific DRM system is selected from among the multiple DRM systems. A license corresponding to the specific DRM system is acquired. The license includes an encryption key capable of decrypting the specific content. The specific content is decrypted using the acquired license.

A method and system for registration with a broadcast server is provided. A request from a smartcard terminal for registration is received and the smartcard terminal is authenticated based on the request. Further, A specific key material, Ks_NAF, is generated in response to the request. At least one of registering the smartcard terminal with the Internet Protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) server and with the broadcast server simultaneously, and registering the smartcard terminal with the IMS server and subsequently with the broadcast server through the IMS server, is performed. At least one of notifying the IMS server of status of the registration by the broadcast server, and notifying the broadcast server of the status of the registration by the IMS server, is performed. The system includes a smartcard terminal for sending a request for registration, a key generator for generating a Ks_NAF, and an IMS server and a broadcast server for authentication and security association establishment with the smartcard terminal using the Ks_NAF.

A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

A method of providing DRM content, including transmitting, by a content issuer, when a request for a specific main content of a communication terminal is input, a DRM content including the main content and a preset sub-content corresponding to the main content to the communication terminal; transmitting, by a rights issuer, a rights object having constraint condition information for securing reproduction of the sub-content to the communication terminal; and reproducing, by the communication terminal, when the DRM content and the rights object are received, the sub-content by analyzing the rights object and reproducing, when reproduction of the sub-content is complete, the main content. Reproduction of a sub-content in a communication terminal can be secured through constraint condition information of a rights object, and waste of resources required for providing a sub-content can be suppressed.
