Abstract:
A makeup removal composition includes a blend of oils comprising one or more branched or linear liquid alkanes with carbon chain length of C11 to C20, including isohexadecane and isododecane, and one or more emollient esters, at least one polymeric thickener for a water-based system, at least one polyglyceryl nonionic surfactant and water in a bi-phase micellar system having oily and water phases, the water phase including water present from about 30% to about 70% by weight of the makeup removal composition wherein water and oil are present in a ratio of water to oil from about 1.5:1 to about 1:1.5. The product removed by wiping without rinsing with water.
Abstract:
An emulsifier-free sunscreen composition includes a suspension of oil phase droplets in a gellified water phase, the oil phase droplets including a UV filter system present from at least about 20% by weight of the composition and including one or more oil soluble UV sun filters, an amino acid gelling agent and optionally at least one diol all of which oil phase components can be blended at a temperature that is below 100 degrees C.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion comprising one or more UV-screening agents, one or more anionic crosslinked hydrophilic polymers, one or more surfactants having an HLB less than or equal to 5 and one or more specific silicone copolymers. The present invention also relates to a cosmetic method for treating the skin against UV radiation using said composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising a silicone polyether elastomer, hydrogenated plant oil having an iodine value not more than about 16, a polar solvent other than a hydrogenated plant oil, and UV filter compounds. The composition of the present invention is free of C1-C3 monohydric alcohols. The invention also relates to a composition which inhibits the formation of white streaks when applied onto an end-user's wet skin.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a composition containing: an emollient system containing esters chosen from dicaprylyl ether, isopropyl myristate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, and sorbitan trioleate; sunscreen actives; an oil-soluble film-former; and optionally, an aesthetic modifier, wherein the composition is clear in appearance both during and after its application onto a keratinous substrate, and alcohol-free.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a composition containing: at least one cross-linked copolymers of acrylic acid and a hydrophobic co-monomer; at least one neutralized polyacrylic acid; at least one silicone acrylate; oil; water; and at least one sunscreen active, wherein the composition is initially clear in appearance and remains clear in appearance upon application onto wet skin.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition intended for protecting the skin and/or hair against ultraviolet radiation containing: (a) at least one photoprotective system capable of screening out UV radiation; and (b) water-insoluble polymeric porous particles in spherical form.
