Abstract: An air filter assembly includes a seat assembly, an air filter unit, and an electronic control unit. The seat assembly may include a seat base and/or a seat back. The air filter unit may be connected to the seat assembly. The electronic control unit may be configured to automatically control the air filter unit. The air filter assembly may include one or more sensors, and/or the electronic control unit may be configured to automatically control the air filter unit according to information from the one or more sensors. The one or more sensors may include a biometric sensor. The biometric sensor may be configured to detect a body odor of an occupant disposed on the seat assembly. The one or more sensors may include a position sensor. The electrical control unit may be configured to automatically control the air filter unit according to information from the position sensor.

Abstract: A system and method for positioning a seat arrangement in a vehicle having a front seat arrangement and a rear seat arrangement includes moving the rear seat arrangement rearward relative to the vehicle when a plurality of criteria are met, including at least one criterion related to occupancy of the rear seat arrangement and at least one criterion related to a likelihood of impact into the vehicle from behind the vehicle. The rear seat arrangement is not moved rearward when at least one of the criteria is not met.

Abstract: A mat system and method for collecting dynamic comfort data relative to a seat occupied by an occupant, the mat system including a sensor matrix layer configured to be disposed (i) extending along at least a portion of a top surface of a seat bottom and including a first shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the top surface of the seat bottom and configured to measure a first shear force generally parallel to the top surface of the seat bottom, or (ii) extending along a portion of a forward surface of a seat back including a second shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the forward surface of the seat back and configured to measure a second shear force generally parallel to the forward surface of the seat back, or (iii) both. The mat system may also include a temperature sensor, a normal force/pressure sensor or a vibration sensor.
