    Abstract: A method for producing a plate type metal-silica composite aerogel and a plate type metal-silica composite aerogel produced thereby in which the metal salt concentration and the basic catalyst concentration are adjusted to form a plate type intermediate first, and then an appropriate amount of a water glass solution is added, thereby enabling the plate type metal-silica composite aerogel to be produced in a short time under conditions of low temperature and atmospheric pressure, so that the process is simpler than the conventional production method, and the cost is reduced, which is excellent in economy. Also provided is a plate type metal-silica composite aerogel, which is produced by the claimed method and has excellent dispersibility that requires no additional surface modifier.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing a metal oxide-silica composite aerogel containing a high ratio of a metal oxide and a metal oxide-silica composite aerogel prepared thereby. The method of preparing a metal oxide-silica composite aerogel according to the present invention may adjust a metal oxide ratio to a high level while easily forming a uniform network structure by performing a primary reaction under an acidic condition and a secondary reaction under a basic condition, and thus, since the prepared metal oxide-silica composite aerogel may contain a high ratio of the metal oxide, mechanical properties may not only be excellent, but high specific surface area and low tap density characteristics may also be exhibited.

    Abstract: A method for synthesizing a pre-hydrolyzed polysilicate, wherein a polysilicate is applied as a reactant when synthesizing the pre-hydrolyzed polysilicate, and the total amount of water added in the reaction system is specified. The method is capable of omitting a condensation reaction by applying a polysilicate as a reactant, thereby significantly shortening synthesis time and reducing production costs when compared with a typical synthesis method in which alkoxysilane-based monomer compound is used as a reactant. In addition, the gelation reaction time and the weight average molecular weight can be easily controlled, and a pre-hydrolyzed polysilicate excellent in storage stability and processability can be synthesized.
