Abstract:
A refrigerator may include guide members mounted to a storage chamber, with each guide member including a vertical guide hole and a vertical guide groove. A shelf may be mounted to the guide members, to be vertically movable, and switch members mounted to the shelf, to be movable forwards and rearwards. Each switch member may include a body, and a protrusion protruding from the body, to be guided along the guide groove of the corresponding guide member. A rotating shaft may be mounted beneath the shelf, to be guided along the guide holes. Pinions may be provided at the rotating shaft. Rack gears may be vertically mounted to the guide members, to be coupled to the pinions. A connecting device may transmit a force to vertically move a front half portion of the shelf to a rear half portion of the shelf such that the shelf is vertically movable while being maintained in a horizontal state.
Abstract:
A refrigerator is provided that may include a main body having a storage compartment in which food or other items may be stored, a main door configured to open or close the storage compartment, the main door having a storage chamber separate from the storage compartment, a sub door configured to open or close an opening of the storage chamber, a tray configured to be introduced into or withdrawn from the storage chamber, a guide configured to guide movement of the tray by being compressed when the tray is introduced into the storage chamber and released from compression when the tray is withdrawn from the storage chamber, and a basket placed on the tray, the basket having a storage space therein. The guide may cause variation in a moving speed of the tray when the tray is introduced into or withdrawn from the storage chamber.
Abstract:
A refrigerator including a home bar is provided. The refrigerator may include a latch assembly that releasably couples a door of the home bar to a door of the refrigerator to selectively provide access to an interior of the home bar without opening the main refrigerator door. The latch assembly may include a holder provided in one of the home bar door or the main refrigerator door, and a latch provided in the other of the home bar door or the main door. The latch may be selectively coupled to the holder to lock and unlock the home bar door. The latch locks the holder by changing elastic rotation of the latch in one direction into elastic restoring rotation in a second, reverse direction as the holder is moved forward into the latch. The latch unlocks the holder as the holder is moved farther forward, and the latch and the holder are decoupled from each other while the latch is elastically rotated in response to backward motion of the holder out of the latch.
Abstract:
A refrigerator having a drawer sealing apparatus includes a refrigerator main body having a cooling chamber, a case disposed within the cooling chamber and forming an accommodation space with a front opening, a drawer accommodated in the case and having a drawer door for opening and closing the front opening of the case, and a sealing apparatus comprising a drawer side member disposed on the drawer door and a case side member disposed on the case, the sealing apparatus having a sealing position where the drawer side member and the case side member are engaged with each other to maintain a sealed state when the drawer door is closed, and an unsealing position where the engaged state is released when the drawer door is open.
Abstract:
A refrigerator equipped with a door that becomes transparent as necessary to make the interior thereof visible is disclosed. The refrigerator includes a cabinet having a storage compartment defined therein, a lighting device for illuminating the interior of the storage compartment, a door, which is hingedly coupled to the cabinet to open and close the storage compartment, and has an opening and a panel assembly including a front panel disposed on the front surface thereof, a sensor for detecting sound waves, which are generated by a knock input applied to the door and are transmitted through the front panel, and a controller for controlling the lighting device to allow light to be transmitted through the panel assembly, thus making the storage compartment visible from outside the door through the opening when a predetermined knock input is detected.
