    Abstract: Disclosed are a moving robot and a control method thereof, and the moving robot performs cleaning by moving based on a map and is able to determine, based on a global localization function, the current position on the map no matter where the moving robot is positioned, so that the moving robot is capable of recognizing the current position on the map, and, even when the position of the moving robot is arbitrarily changed, the moving robot is able to recognize the position thereof again and move to an exact designated area, so that the moving robot is capable of perform designated cleaning and move rapidly and accurately, thereby performing cleaning efficiently.

    Abstract: A mobile robot system and a related control method sets a virtual wall as a specific area so that a mobile robot cannot approach within a cleaning area to restrict a traveling of the mobile robot, registers the virtual wall on a map when the virtual wall for restrict the approach of the mobile robot is set by a terminal, calculates a location of the virtual wall for the cleaning area to avoid the virtual wall, and restricts the approach of the mobile robot by matching the virtual wall to the cleaning area, controlling the mobile robot as if an actual physical obstacle exists by setting the virtual wall on the map through the terminal and matching to an actual cleaning area, and achieving an easy cleaning setting and effectively controlling the mobile robot as it can be plurally set at a desired location irrespective of the number.

    Abstract: A robot cleaner includes a case, a suction device provided in the case, a suction nozzle for sucking dust from a floor by driving of the suction device, a dust collection device for collecting foreign substances contained in the air sucked via the suction nozzle, a driving unit for allowing the case to drive automatically, a controller for controlling the driving of the suction device and the driving unit, and for generating cleaning history information comprising map information on a cleaning area and moving path information, a memory unit for storing the cleaning history information; and a wireless communication module provided in the case to transmit the cleaning history information to the external terminal, when the external terminal asks the cleaning history information.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a robot cleaner, a controlling method of the same, and a robot cleaning system. The robot cleaner can perform a cleaning operation with respect to only a user's desired region, in a repeated and concentrated manner. Further, as the robot cleaner runs on a user's desired region in a manual manner, a designated region can be precisely set. Further, as the robot cleaner performs a cleaning operation by setting a user's desired region, only a simple configuration is added to a terminal device such as a remote control unit. Accordingly, additional costs can be reduced, and a malfunction can be prevented.

    Abstract: A moving robot and a control method thereof according to the present invention create a cleaning map including information on a travelable area of a cleaning area based on obstacle information, create a create a manufactured user map by changing forms and outlines by area with respect to a plurality of area configuring the cleaning map, and create a user map having a form similar to that of the cleaning are in a real indoor space by changing a form and an outline of a map including information on the travelable area according to an arear, so that a user easily recognizes a position of each area to input a cleaning command through the map, and a cleaning command with respect to an area which the moving robot cannot run is prevented from being input. Since the moving robot does not unnecessarily move an area, operation power consumption is reduced. The moving robot may run a cleaning area with limited power to efficiently clean the cleaning area.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a moving robot and a controlling method thereof. The moving robot which selectively moves an area based on a stored map to search a charging station within a short time when there is a need for charging due to consumption of a battery. Although a position of the moving robot is optionally changed, the moving robot recognizes a position thereof so that it is easy to move between areas and an influence according to complexity of an obstacle is reduced. Since the charging station in an area may be searched through small moving by setting a specific point in the area as a search position to search the charging station, stop of an operation during searching the charging station may be solved and the charging station may be exactly searched within a short time.
