A method is described for treating activated carbon configured to be included in a carbon block of a filter for a water purifier. The method includes: inserting the activated carbon into a chamber; injecting ozone generated from an ozone generator into the chamber, and applying pressure to the chamber; and modifying a surface of the activated carbon inserted into the chamber based on applying the pressure to the chamber that holds the ozone and the activated carbon.

A filter for a water treatment apparatus includes a filter housing that defines an inlet of the filter and an outlet of the filter, and a filter module disposed inside the filter housing and configured to purify water received through the inlet and supply purified water to the outlet. The filter module includes a carbon block that has a hollow tube-shape and that comprises a mixture of activated carbon and a binder, and a non-woven fabric that surrounds an outer circumferential surface of the carbon block, the non-woven fabric comprising an electrostatic attraction material. The filter module is configured to receive water through the inlet, transmit the water through the non-woven fabric and the carbon block in sequence to thereby purify the water, and then discharge the purified water to the outlet of the filter.

A filter for a water treatment apparatus includes: a current collector; activated carbon electrodes including an active carbon coating layer that is disposed on one or both sides of the current collector and that has an uneven pattern; spacers disposed between the activated carbon electrodes; electrode plates connected to side ends of the activated carbon electrodes; and a power supply configured to supply currents through the electrode plates to the activated carbon electrodes such that neighboring activated carbon electrodes alternatively form an anode and a cathode. The filter can decrease water hardness and has a high ion removing performance because the uneven pattern increases the specific surface area and water permeability, and an ion exchange membrane is not used and the current collector has a minimized volume, leading to the minimal thickness of the electrode.

The present invention relates to a water purifier filter, and a water purifier including the same. The water purifier filter and the water purifier including the same according to the present invention include a filter housing including an inlet and an outlet, and a filter module provided in the filter housing to purify water introduced through the inlet and to supply the water to the outlet, and a material of the filter module includes sodium orthotitanate (Na4TiO4) to remove a heavy metal under water, thereby effectively removing a heavy metal including cadmium under water.
