The present disclosure provides for a porous gas sorbent material with superior gravimetric working capacity and volumetric capacity, a gas storage system including a porous gas sorbent material of the present disclosure, methods of making the same, and method for storing a gas. The porous gas sorbent material includes a gas adsorbing material and a non-aqueous binder.

A method for producing an iron-containing filter material for water treatment includes the steps of reacting a trivalent iron compound and a base inside a vessel until the trivalent iron is completely neutralized, to obtain an iron hydroxide and a salt consisting of the anion of the trivalent iron compound and the cation of the base; feeding the iron hydroxide and the salt into ceramic membranes to wash the iron hydroxide from the salt in cross-flow; feeding the iron hydroxide suspension to a membrane filter press where part of the water is removed, to obtain a panel having a moisture content of less than 77% by weight; inserting the panel into containers; and positioning the containers inside a refrigeration chamber operating at atmospheric pressure and at temperatures less than 0° C. for a time between 24 and 240 hours.

A filter system comprises a hollow fiber membrane filter having pores; and an electrostatic adsorption filter partially or wholly having positive charges to be ion adsorbed with nanoparticles of negative charges by an electrostatic attraction, the nanoparticles which exist in the water, and the electrostatic adsorption filter configured to remove in advance the nanoparticles from the water to be supplied to the hollow fiber membrane filter, to prevent a water passing amount of the hollow fiber membrane filter from being rapidly reduced. According to the present invention, the viruses existing in raw water may be removed in accordance with a size exclusion mechanism of the hollow fiber membrane filter, and the nanoparticles, which cause the reduction of the water passing amount of the hollow fiber membrane filter, may be removed using the electrostatic adsorption filter.

Methods of forming a high surface area compacted MOF powder are disclosed, as well as MOF pellets formed thereby. The method may include synthesizing a metal organic framework (MOF) powder using a first solvent, exchanging the first solvent with a second solvent such that pores of the MOF powder are at least 10% filled with the second solvent, compacting the MOF powder having pores at least 10% filled with the second solvent into a pellet, and desolvating the compacted pellet to remove the second solvent. The pellet may maintain a specific surface area after compacting that is at least 80% its initial specific surface area. Compacting the MOF powder with a solvent at least partially filling its pores may prevent or reduce crushing of the MOF pore structure and maintain surface area, for example, for hydrogen or natural gas storage.

A tubular hydrocarbon adsorption trap includes a fuel vapor permeable porous media sheet which is circularly wrapped around to form a circumferentially closed elongated tubular body having at least one interior chamber in which the hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent media is arranged. Opposing longitudinal edges of the wrapped media sheet are secured by ultrasonic welding or other means to securely close the circumference of the tubular body. The tubular body is closed on the top and bottom longitudinal edges to retain hydrocarbon vapor adsorbent media within. A method of manufacturing the tubular hydrocarbon adsorption trap is also disclosed.

Disclosed are silica bound zeolite adsorbent particles which possess high volumetric gas adsorption capacity for the adsorption and/or desorption of gases. The adsorbent are highly effective as a gas source in volumetrically constrained applications. The silica-bound zeolite adsorbents possess a relatively high zeolite content simultaneously with a relatively low intra-particle pore volume as compared to the clay bound zeolite aggregates heretofore used as a gas source in volumetrically constrained environments, e.g. instant beverage carbonation processes, devices or systems.

An excrement-treating material has a core part, and a surface layer bonded to the core part by utilizing the adhesion ability of a water-absorbable polymer in the surface layer without using an adhesive. The excrement-treating material suitably exerts the water absorbability and water transport ability inherent to the surface layer. The excrement-treating material is constituted by incorporating pulverized water-absorbable polymer particles of 20 μm to 50 μm, and adding water to the surface of the core part after granulation to noncontinuously form a highly-wet part; reacting a water content in the highly-wet part and the pulverized water-absorbable polymer to noncontinuously form an adhering part; and bonding the surface layer to the core part through the adhering part. Upon absorption of excreted urine, permeation of the urine into the core part is accelerated in a part other than the adhering part.

A moisture sorbing acrylic-based composition comprising an ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as main liquid component, and a metal perchlorate therein dissolved is described. Use of the composition in order to obtain a moisture sorber material is also described, to be inserted for example in electronic or optoelectronic devices.
