Abstract:
An opening and closing device for outwardly pivoting frame closures, such as windows includes an operating handle, such as a crank or the like, which is connected to the pivoting frame drive mechanism fitted in the groove of the lower edge of the fixed frame. This drive mechanism includes a translation mechanism driven by the operating handle and actuating the rotation mechanism of the pivoting frame. The mechanism for rotation cooperates with a secondary translation element connected either directly or through a secondary arm to the pivoting frame in order to displace the latter's rotation axis in a plane parallel to that of the fixed frame.
Abstract:
Hinge for a door, window or the like, the sash of which is partially overlapping the sash-frame and outwardly tiltable about a horizontal spindle located at the height of its upper rail including a) hinged lower compass arms imparting to the sash, at the very beginning of its opening, a path with vertical components, b) and upper hinge elements capable of simultaneously outwardly projecting the upper rail of the sash during the substantially vertical movement thereof. The hinge includes an assistance mechanism to push back, vertically and upwards, the sash at the end of closing, and to simultaneously position and center the sash with respect to the sash-frame.
Abstract:
A fitting for doors, windows or the like including an espagnolette or espagnolette lock fitted in a case in which is housed a control mechanism permitting the activation of at least one operating rod and an electrical blocking device. In order to avoid significant modifications to the standard espagnolette or espagnolette lock, the electrical blocking device is in the form of a separate assembly placed either at any place at the front edge of the leaf of the door or window, or aligned with the prolongation of and coupled with the case of the espagnolette or espagnolette lock.
Abstract:
A composite article, in particular, a rear-view mirror for a motor vehicle, comprising a substrate generally made of glass, a reflective layer composed of an oxidized or nitrided metal, possibly in an under-stoichiometric state disposed on either the front face or the rear face, and a coating stack disposed on the front face. The coating stack comprises a layer having generally photocatalytic properties, preferably a titanium dioxide based layer, which may be covered by a fine hydrophilic layer. The coating stack may also comprise a barrier sub-layer. Preferably the hydrophilic layer and barrier sub-layer are composed of silicon oxide. A process for forming the composite article includes sputter deposition of various layers followed by heat treatment. Advantageously the article has an attenuated reflection which can vary between 40% and 75%.

Abstract:
Dichroïc mirrors, also known as optical filters, having a particular use as a rear view mirror includes a vitreous substrate coated with a stack of interferential layers and with a metallic reflector. The stack of layers includes, successively from the substrate, a layer of high refractive index material in the range of 1.9 to 2.8, a layer of a lower refractive index material in the range of 1.2 to 2.2, and a layer of a semiconductor material having a refractive index of more than 3. The refractive indices of the layers of high refractive index material and lower refractive index material differ by at least 0.2 and the coated substrate has a transmittance at 550 nm of at least 6% and a reflectance at 550 nm greater than 45%.
Abstract:
Hinge fittings for pivoting a titlable door or window in which the opening frame partially overlaps the fixed frame provided with a corner bearing and a casement stay fixed in rabbets, and each of the corner bearing and the casement stay having an auxiliary stay arm, a connecting rod and a second stay arm connecting the opening frame to the fixed frame. In order to guarantee better sealing and reliable operation of the door or window, the hinge fittings also include elements for the lateral and vertical positioning of the opening frame in relation to the fixed frame and elements to press the opening frame against the fixed frame on closing.
