摘要:
The present invention takes the advantage of the WLAN resources in hotspots for voice and data connections and enables seamless handover between WWAN and WLAN and vice versa. This allows two users in the hotspots to communicate with each other by making a voice over IP (VoIP) or video call, thus achieving cost savings for the end users and WWAN resources savings for the wireless operators. According to one embodiment of the invention, a mobile terminal has wireless wide area network (WWAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN) interfaces. The mobile terminal via a WWAN. If a WLAN is present, the mobile terminal sends a handover request together with its network address to the called mobile terminal, using a short message service (SMS) technique or a watermarking technique, for initiating a WLAN call with the called mobile terminal via a WLAN. After the WLAN call is established with the called mobile terminal, the mobile terminal releases the WWAN call.

A method to be performed by a user terminal with WWAN and WLAN interfaces, comprising steps of: communicating via the WWAN interface; inspecting whether its WLAN interface is available; entering into a WWAN-to WLAN state from a WWAN active state if its WLAN interface is available; said user terminal provides a public server with known network address with its presence information said WWAN-to-WLAN state; and acquiring the network address of another user terminal communicating with said user terminal from said server, sending a WLAN call request to said another user terminal by using said address; entering into WLAN active state after receiving the message for accepting the WLAN call request from said another user terminal.

A method is proposed for a mobile terminal in mobile communication systems to transfer non-speech data in voice channel, comprising steps of: encapsulating the non-speech data to be sent to another mobile terminal into IBD frames; storing said IBD frames in a buffer; detecting whether a speech burst sent to said another mobile terminal is over; checking whether there is non-speech data to be sent to said another mobile terminal if detecting that said speech burst is over; sending at least one non-speech data to said another mobile terminal via voice channel if there is non-speech data to be sent. By modifying the SID frame and silence speech frame, this method realizes transmission of non-speech via voice channel rather than via dedicated data channel, so as to save radio resources of the system.

A communication method for a mobile terminal to perform seamless handover between a WWAN and a WLAN. The method comprises receiving a registration message sent by the mobile terminal when it enters the WLAN, wherein the registration message at least contains a WLAN address that the mobile terminal acquires when entering the WLAN; establishing the mapping relationship between the WWAN address and the WLAN address of the mobile terminal according to the registration message; encapsulating the WLAN address into the data information to be sent to the mobile terminal according to the mapping relationship when receiving the data information to be sent to the mobile terminal from a source address; and sending the data information containing the WLAN address to the mobile terminal via the WLAN.

The present invention provides a 3D handwriting recognition system that allows users to freely write words or characters in a 3D space in a touchless manner, without requiring any physical medium such as a pad or a tablet. The users' handwriting input in a 3D space will be tracked by an input device of the system that generates corresponding 3D motion data and wirelessly transfers the 3D motion data to a recognition device of the system. The 3D motion data will be converted and then mapped onto a 2D plane to generate corresponding 2D images for handwriting recognition. In this way, the users' inputting will never be limited to any screen, pad or plane, and the users will have more flexibility and enjoyable writing experience.

The invention applies relates to the access to an additional content related to a main content from a player having an Internet access and being designed so as to allow the setting of parental levels in a preferred embodiment the main content is stored on a disc edited with with links toward the additional contents. When the disc is in place in the player, such a link can be established to access to the additional content. The invention applies when such an access is subject to a user identification. The invention consists in adding to the user identification process a step for recovering the parental level applicable to the user and adapting the offer made to the user depending on the recovered parental level.

The present invention proposes a method for performing multi-mode conversations for mobile terminals, comprising the steps of: 1)detecting whether there is Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) available nearby; 2)accessing a network device for correlative location information of another mobile terminal which it intends to communicate with when there is a WLAN available; 3)establishing communication with said another mobile terminal by using said correlative location information via said WLAN after receiving said correlative location information of said another mobile terminal sent back by said network device; and 4)accessing said network device to request updating correlative location information of said mobile terminal when said correlative location information of said mobile terminal changes.

The present invention takes the advantage of the wireless local area network (WLAN) resources in hotspots for voice and data connections and enables seamless handover between wireless wide area network (WWAN) and WLAN and vice versa, thus achieving cost savings for the end users and WWAN resources savings for the wireless operators. According to one embodiment of the invention, a mobile terminal having WWAN and WLAN interfaces establishes a WWAN call with a called mobile terminal via a WWAN.
