Abstract: A gear part and method is provided for forming a gear part, in which a circular blank-like workpiece is fixed in a flow-forming machine in a radially inner area, the circular blank-like workpiece is rotated, at least one roller is infed and the roller is substantially radially moved inwardly, in which during the radial moving in workplace material flows radially, so that the workplace wall thickness is reduced in this area, in a central area of the workplace a boss is formed and during radial moving in the roller is increasingly axially infed.
