    摘要： A line switch for a digital telephone switching system utilizes distributed processing. The line switch comprises one or more switch modules. Each switch module is coupled to a central office switching system via one or more PCM lines which utilize common channel signaling. Each switch module comprises groups of line circuits, each line circuit being coupled to a subscriber line. Three separate distributed processor functions are provided in each line switch module. A first processor is utilized to communicate with the central office switching system and to coordinate the operations within the line switch module. A second processor is provided to control clock generation and rate conversion circuits. Each group of line circuits includes a third processor to control the operations of the line circuits and to gather information from the line circuit. A busing arrangement is provided within the line switch such that both control information and PCM voice data are routed throughout the line switch.The bus arrangement operates at a data rate higher than that of the PCM lines. A rate converter serves to interface two PCM lines to an internal PCM bus by interleaving channels from the two PCM lines onto the PCM bus and by further providing an additional control channel on the PCM bus. The rate converter further serves to demultiplex channels from the PCM bus onto the PCM lines.

An imaging device can be positionable relative to the worktable. The imaging device can be configured to obtain an image of the covering on the surface of the worktable. A projector can be positionable relative to worktable. The projector can be configured to project an image onto the surface of the worktable and the covering on the surface of the worktable. A controller can be in communication with the imaging device and projector. The controller can be configured to correct images taken by the imaging device. The controller can also be configured to correct the images projected onto the surface of the worktable and the covering thereon. The controller can be configured to permit the showing of virtual markings on the covering placed on the surface of the worktable through an image projected thereon by the projector. The covering can then be marked or cut along the virtual markings.

    摘要： A tower (A) for effecting heat transfer or chemical reactions contains a packing (B) formed from a multitude of packing elements (2, 28). Each element includes a peripheral wall (10, 30) and a convoluted interior wall (12, 32) that spirals inwardly from the peripheral wall toward the center of the element, thus forming a convoluted passage (14, 34) through the element. The convoluted passages in the elements capture the flow of fluid through the packing so that less fluid follows voids between the elements and more flows through the elements. Moreover, the convoluted interior wall of each element provides a large surface area for heat transfer or chemical reactions.
