Abstract: In one embodiment, a flotation apparatus for treating a liquid medium includes a flotation body; one or more UV lamps connected to the flotation body to be submerged in the liquid medium from the flotation body; and a filter screen connected to the flotation body to be submerged in the liquid medium upstream of the one or more UV lamps. The filter screen extends downward below a surface of the liquid medium to a lowest level which is disposed at or below a lowest level of the one or more UV lamps.

Abstract: Provided is a micro-polluted water body ecological treatment method based on aquatic forest system construction. By using a water body treated by means of the method in the present invention, an aquatic forest can be formed, and the synergistic effect, nutritional relationship, food chain relationship, etc., between organisms can be fully utilized for effective operation, such that not only can the combined benefits of water quality purification and water body resource utilization be achieved, but the organic unity of environmental protection, economic development, and the improvement of people's livelihood can also be realized.

Abstract: An immobilized microbial agent for in situ restoration of contaminated sediments, composed of Hangjin clay 2 #-loaded conductive microorganisms, obtained by the following methods: 1) pretreating Hangjin clay 2 # to obtain particulate filler; 2) amplification culture of conductive microorganisms to a bacterial liquid to be inoculated, and adding the Hangjin clay 2 # pretreated in step 1 in a certain ratio, mixing under anaerobic conditions, removing the supernatant after standing, and obtaining the immobilized microbial agent; the conductive microorganisms are Geobacter sulfurreducens, Geobacter metallireducens and Shewanella. The invention also discloses a method for preparing the immobilized microbial agent and the application of in situ restoration of contaminated sediments.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method and a device for treating cyanobacteria in a water area based on the principle of biological competition, the method comprising: finding an area where cyanobacteria most easily accumulate, i.e. a concave bank of a water area, and setting up an algae interception net around the area; quickly and largely clearing the cyanobacteria in the area by means of manual or mechanical catching; planting emerged plants on the shoreline of the water area to fundamentally improve water quality; and additionally, densely arranging treatment tanks in a larger water area to kill the cyanobacteria gradually, and collecting dead cyanobacteria to prevent them from polluting the water area subsequently; and collecting and treating the tanks regularly for recycling.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an ice management system is provided for removing an amount of oil from a surface of a body of water. The ice management system includes an ice frame having an ice fence coupled with an ice cage, an oil skimmer device disposed within the ice frame, and an ice deflection assembly coupled with the ice frame. The ice deflection assembly includes an auger coupled with a motor. The auger includes a drum and a deflection mechanism, and the motor is configured to rotate the auger. The deflection mechanism includes a spiral flight or a series of tabs arranged in a corkscrew pattern about the drum. The ice fence includes a plurality of curved vanes. The curved vanes have a bent rectangular plate shape.

Abstract: A composition and method are disclosed for forming lignin-containing floccules from dissolved lignin, lignin nanoparticles, lignin colloids, or lignin-containing cellulose nanofibers. The floccules may be used to clean oil-contaminated materials such as oil-contaminated plastics or oil-contaminated water.
