摘要: Provided herein are systems methods including a design of a microscope slide scanner for digital pathology applications which provides high quality images and automated batch-mode operation at low cost. The instrument architecture is advantageously based on a convergence of high performance, yet low cost, computing technologies, interfaces and software standards to enable high quality digital microscopy at very low cost. Also provided is a method based in part on a stitching method that allows for dividing an image into a number of overlapping tiles and reconstituting the image with a magnification without substantial loss of accuracy. A scanner is employed in capturing snapshot images. The method allows for overlapping images captured in consecutive snapshots.

The ultraviolet light source is a straight low-cost tube controlled by electronic circuitry for providing hot-cathode striking at a relatively low voltage using a fly-back inductor. 摘要: Water purifying drink containers include a liquid container, a cap assembly removably coupled to the liquid container, and a purification assembly that emits ultraviolet (UV) light in the germicidal spectrum to purify a volume of drink liquid held in the liquid container. In some embodiments, the purification assembly includes a UV bulb positioned within a recess of the cap assembly facing the internal compartment of the liquid container. In some embodiments, the UV bulb further emits light in the visible spectrum and the drink container includes an indicator that becomes illuminated with visible light to indicate to a user when the UV bulb is emitting UV light.

摘要: An illumination device for an optical imaging apparatus, such as a microscope. The illumination of a slide specimen is achieved when divergent light for a point light source or a plurality of point light sources illuminate the specimen converging at high angles at equal brightness across all angles. The user of divergent light cancels the cosine distributed gradient effect (Lambert's cosine law) to effectively create a substantially evenly distribution of light. The placement of diffractive or diffusive film under the specimen causes the light to converge at high angles onto the specimen. The light from the point light source can be further diffused by passing it through a column having its interior coated with a non-diffractive material adapted to widely scatter the light.
